August 15, 1922 - June 1, 2019

Celebration of Life Service for Irene "Marie" Vollmer, age 96, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Enid will be Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church with Rev Susan Southall officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Marie was born on September 15,1922, in Woodward, OK, to Jerry Cecil Coover and Fern Elva Demaree Coover, and passed away June 1, 2019 in Oklahoma City. Marie attended Elementary School in Helena, OK, and later graduated high school in Pond Creek. Marie married Kendall Lois Batchelor in 1940 after graduating high school. Kendall, while serving our country in WW11, died in combat during the Battle of the Bulge in 1945. Marie and Judy established a home in Enid where Marie was introduced to William Donal Vollmer and married on April 2, 1946. Marie and Don were married 54 years before his death in 2000. Marie graduated from Enid Beauty College and received her Oklahoma Instructor's license in 1965. She became an instructor for the College and satisfied countless customers for over 25 years in her business located in the home in North Enid. After retiring from Cosmetology she volunteered for many organizations including, Bass Memorial Hospital, an active member of First United Methodist church for 50 years and served as the Sunday School teacher of four year olds for many years. Marie was also a member of the United Methodist Women (UMW) organization and member of the Eastern Star Enid Chapter and Gold Star Wives in Oklahoma City.

Marie was preceded in death by husband Kendall and husband Don; daughter, Judy; parents, J "Cecil" and Fern "Elva"; brothers, Jerry and Jean; sisters, Lu and Ruth.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Nancy Louise Vollmer Unruh and husband Ray of Rockwall,Texas; son, Billy Don Vollmer and wife Shanna of Sand Springs; grandchildren, Jody Landrith of Denver, Lane Landrith and Brian of Niwot, Colorado, Cassidy Unruh of Woodland Park, Colorado, Jon Clint Unruh and wife Shannon of Woodland Park, Colorado, and Cydney Unruh Coleman and husband Drew of Forney, Texas, Brooke Annis and Carson Milburn of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; Great grand children, Esther and Abigail , Lily, Memphis and Maggie, and Decker; Sisters, Ina Coover of California, Lorraine Robertson of Oklahoma City; Brother, Jim Coover and wife LaRue of Tulsa, as well as many nephews and nieces.

Memorials may be made to Epworth Villa Tree of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be made online at www.ladusauevans.com
