George L. Viers

George L. Viers, 80, 1720 W. Oklahoma, died Saturday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Tuesday in Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Lloyd Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Viers was born July 24, 1901, on a farm southwest of Aline to James and Isabel Viers. He was reared in that area and attended schools there. He and Ida Linville were married at Fairview. They made their home there, moving to Enid in 1961.

Viers worked for the Highway Department until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Ida; one adopted daughter; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.

Memorials may be made in his name to Central Christian Church with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
