Funeral services for William H. Veit, 87, 413 S. Hoover, who died Thursday in a local hospital, will be at 11 AM Monday in the Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home. The body will lie in state in the funeral home until 9:30 AM Monday.

Veit was born May 2, 1891, in Litchfield, Illinois, and came with his parents to Lone Wolf in 1908. He and Frieda Quade were married there May 14, 1916. Veit was a merchant and farmer for 38 years before moving to Rochester, Minnesota, where he was employed by the Fire and Safety Corporation for 3 1/2 years.

After his retirement in 1959 the Veits moved to Enid. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and served as an elder for 10 years. Veit was presented a plaque for his service to the church.

Those who wish may make contributions to the Lutheran Hour or to the Bethesda Lutheran Home in memory of Veit. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

In addition to his wife Frieda of the home, Veit is survived by three sons, Evain F. Veit of Hunter, Melvin G. Veit of Kingsville, Missouri, Orville J. Veit of Deerfield, Illinois; a daughter, Mrs. Willianna Klause of Rochester, Minnesota; 16 grandchildren, and two great – grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five sisters, three brothers and a granddaughter.
