Robert J. Vaughan, 55, 1718 E. Oklahoma, died of an apparent heart attack Wednesday afternoon while at work at an oil site East of Okeene.

His funeral will be at 2 PM Saturday in the Maine Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Loren I. Forbes officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The Brown Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Those who wish may make contributions to the Maine Church of the Nazarene in Vaughan's memory.

He was born near Lucien and moved with his parents to a farm near Crescent where he attended schools. Vaughan lived in Covington for a number of years before moving to Enid in 1964.

He and Ruth Hanson were married in 1960. She died April 16, 1968. Vaughan was a former member of the IOOF at Columbia Township near Crescent. He had worked in the oil fields for more than 30 years and at the time of his death was a rate operator for Welltech, Inc., at Hennessey.

Vaughan was married to Wanda Euelene Yount in 1970 and she survives him. Other survivors are two step sons, Leighton Hanson, with the U. S. Army in Germany and Randy Yount, Denver, Colorado; three step – daughters, Mrs. Rosetta Massina, New Orleans, Louisiana, Mrs. Adele Stone, Enid and Mrs. Kathy Shaw, Long Beach, California; three brothers, John W. Vaughan, Enid, Rev. Pat Vaughan, Nash and Lester F. Vaughan, Lahoma; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Evelyn P.) Gordon, Waukomis, Mrs. Willis (Lela Bell) Patterson, Ft. Pierce, Florida, Mrs. Bill (Thelma) Arnold, Concorde, California.
