The funeral for Ronald Arthur VanWelden, 60, will be 2 PM Friday in Brown – Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. Dennis Treat, chaplain, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites by Vance Air Force Base Silver Talon Honor Guard.

He was born July 11, 1943, in New Orleans to Ronald A. and Margaret Eloise Tate VanWelden and died Wednesday, February 4, 2004, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.

He moved to Enid at an early age and attended Taft School. He then moved to Oklahoma city and graduated from Central High School. He attended the University of Oklahoma for two years. He enlisted in the Air Force and served six years. He was stationed in Turkey. He was honorably discharged on March 8, 1968, and held the rank of sergeant. On November 5, 1971, he married Debbie Kulik. He was part – owner of Maxwell House of Enid, owned Family Affair Restaurant, Millies and managed Elks Lodge Restaurant.

Surviving are his wife, Debbie of the home; two daughters, Mandi Stevens of Enid and Missy Pate of Rusk, Texas; one brother, Richard; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Heart Division.
