When she was four-years-old she lost her mother. She was raised by her grandmother, Julie Mae Burks.

She accepted Christ at an early age and later on in life returned to her home church, Grayson Missionary Baptist Church, in Enid, Okla. Willa had a strong faith in God.

Willa attended Enid Public Schools and completed her education. Willa worked many years in the health care industry until her health failed. Willa was always a person who loved life.

She loved children. She was a giving and loving person, she loved to volunteer and help the needy at the shelters. She always greeted everyone with a smile. She touched the lives of many people in many ways. She loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews, like they were her own. Some of her hobbies included fishing, cookouts and playing cards. In high school she ran track and won first place medals in some of the relays. She was also good in gymnastics and basketball. Willa was well known for her crazy humor and playful jokes.

Willa's favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalms.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Debra Turner, Dee Decker Turner and Carolyn Turner; one brother, Dean Turner; her parents; paternal grandparents, Julie Mae and Mckinley Burks; and her maternal grandparents.

Her cherished memories are left to her sisters, Debbie Freeman, Nancy Baker Phillips (Marcellous), Nellie Harding of Enid, Bernice Turner, Cherokee, Okla., Joyce Turner of Olathe, Kan.; a dear sister-in-law, Mary Ellerby Cooper of Enid, Okla.; her brothers, Michael Burks, Joe Harvey Baker (Annie), Terry Freeman, Will Smith Turner, Tulsa, Okla., James Turner of Oklahoma City; 24 special nieces and nephews that she helped raise, Kenneth Burks, Keysha Turner, Julie Burks, Michael Joe Burks, Toby Turner, Tyrone Burks, Kelly Turner, Lillie "Na-Baby" Richey, Lorene Richey, Deshay Burks, Tremon Richey, Debbie Richey, Elias Burks, Tarin Baker, Amos Baker, DaShawn Baker, Correll Baker, Amy Larson, Ron Larson, Justice Burks, Tavian Marty, Miah, Kyra and Darrian Burks; and a host of other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
