The Rev Keith Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. She was born May 18, 1920, in Chickasha to John and Lottie Pickard Bartlett and died Thursday, May 15, 2003, at St Mary's Regional Medical Center. She married Frank Turner on June 3, 1943, in Enid. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and had worked at Enid State School as a cottage attendant for 16 years, retiring in 1982. She was a foster grandparent. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth L. of Enid and Larry W.; One daughter, Pam Roark of Enid. She was preceded in death by her husband on November 15, 1982, and one brother. |

Betty was born September 17, 1929, in Pond Creek, to Roy and Gladys [Hull] Sharkey and passed away on November 12, 2020 in Enid. Betty graduated from Pond Creek High School. She married Robert Turner on December 21, 1947 in Pond Creek. They had four children. She worked at North Enid School as a cook for over twenty years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her son, Robert Jr, both her parents and her sister, Nancy Sharkey. Betty is survived by three of her children, Roberta Gibson of Texas, Betty Chamberlain of Enid, and Linda Eidd of Texas; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild; brother, Roy Sharkey; and sister, Jane Gragert. |

Wednesday July 27, 2016 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gordon Jantz officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. He was born December 25, 1930 to E.H. and Bernice M. Humphreys Turner in Enid and passed from this life July 22, 2016 in Enid. He was raised and educated in Enid, graduating from Enid High School in 1950. He married his wife of over 65 years, Charlotte Menz, on July 17, 1951. He entered into service with the U.S. Army in 1951 and served during the Korean war and was honorably discharged in 1954. He returned to Enid and worked for Long Bells, Cleveland Floors and Paul’s Glass and Floor Covering stores each for 5 years. He and his wife founded Ed's Floor covering in 1974 and prospered the company for 25 years until retiring in 1999. He stayed busy during his retirement volunteering at St Mary's, doing wood working and traveling. He is survived by his wife, of the home; Daughter, Ginny Thomas, of Enid; Sons Brian Turner and wife Joan, of Enid and Gene and wife Lee Ann, of Ames; one sister Marguerite Poole, of California and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. Memorials may be made in his name to The Service Dog Project with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Military graveside rites will be coordinated by the Silver Talon Honor Guard through Vance Airforce Base. Pastor Turner was born on October 20, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Lester Sr and Eilene Destocki Turner, and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in Oklahoma City. He was raised and educated in Columbus, graduating from high school in 1959. Pastor Turner married Betty Ann Smith in LaFayette, Louisiana on December 23, 1962. He graduated from Southwest Louisiana University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Agriculture Education. Pastor Turner taught Agriculture for several years before taking the pulpit. He served his Lord for thirty-five years serving churches all over the country, retiring in May of 2015. Pastor Turner was a member of the Southern Baptist Conference. Survivors include his wife, Betty of the residence; son, Karl [Renee] Turner of Enid; daughter, Theresa [Christopher] Smith of Lincoln City, Oregon; ten grandchildren, twelve great-[ grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; brother, Michael Turner of Ohio; sister, Jodelle Turner of Ohio, and daughter in law, Kathy Turner of Olympia, Washington. © Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma November 18, 2020 May 9, 1950 ~ November 12, 2020 Donald Dale Turner was born May 9, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa, to J. Karl and Ida Willodean Smith Turner. He died Thursday, November 12, 2020, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dale would want to say he lived 25,755 days, but the rest of us would say he was 70. Dale completed his secondary education in Enid, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Enid High School Class of 1968. He was a member of the marching band from fifth grade through college. During his high school and college years, Dale worked for local foundries. His higher education included Phillips University in Enid and a music education degree at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. Dale married his high school sweetheart, Nelda K. Messenger, on May 31, 1970, in Hillsdale, Oklahoma. He was the band director at Dow City Schools and Bondurant Schools in Iowa from 1972-1980. He also worked as an independent business owner from 1976 to the present and started a Desktop Publishing company in 1984 before retiring from that in 2015 Dale was strong in his faith and was baptized at Westside Wesleyan Church in Enid. While in Iowa he was a member of Des Moines First Assembly of God, then after moving to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Dale attended Clearview Baptist Church. Dale loved music and was a member of the Tulsa Community Band and a charter member of T-Town Jazz Band. After his children were grown and married, Dale's passion for cars grew even greater as he admired the craftsmanship of the many classic cars in Tulsa. Dale helped start the Tulsa Tuesday Cruise in April of 1999 which is still going strong today. He was a member of Tulsa Classic Chevy Club, serving as President and various other offices and was also a member of the Tulsa Vette Set and Klassik Kruisers. With his love for both cars and music, Dale became well-known for his playlist of 50's and 60's music at car events around the greater Tulsa area. Dale especially loved his family and thoroughly enjoyed his role as "Grandpa". Those Dale leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include: His wife of over 50 years; Nelda, of Broken Arrow, Daughter; Natalie Cummings and husband Dan, of Thornton, Colorado, Son; Dustin Turner, of Tulsa, Grandchildren; Noah and Elijah Cummings, Lilah and Emma Turner, Brother; Duane Turner, of Chicago, Illinois And many car enthusiasts/friends with whom Dale and Nelda shared experiences and fun. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, J Karl and Willodean Turner. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2020, at the Clearview Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Graveside service will be held later that afternoon at Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, Oklahoma at 2:30 P.M. |

He farmed with his dad until 1994, when he moved to Texas. He is survived by his mother, Betty Turner of Enid; three sisters, Roberta Gibson of Laguna Park, Texas, Betty Chamberlain of Breckinridge, and Linda Eidd of Euless, Texas; and daughter, Heather Turner of Oklahoma City. Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Willa Gene was born August 2, 1962, to Nancy Burks Baker and Willie Turner. Willa was called home Thursday, October 28, 2010, at 10:30 p.m. at St Mary's Regional Medical Center. When she was four years old she lost her mother. She was raised by her grandmother, Julie Mae Burks. She accepted Christ at an early age and later on in life returned to her home church, Grayson Missionary Baptist Church, in Enid, Okla. Willa had a strong faith in God. Willa attended Enid Public Schools and completed her education. Willa worked many years in the health care industry until her health failed. Willa was always a person who loved life. She loved children. She was a giving and loving person, she loved to volunteer and help the needy at the shelters. She always greeted everyone with a smile. She touched the lives of many people in many ways. She loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews, like they were her own. Some of her hobbies included fishing, cookouts and playing cards. In high school she ran track and won first place medals in some of the relays. She was also good in gymnastics and basketball. Willa was well known for her crazy humor and playful jokes. Willa's favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalms. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Debra Turner, Dee Decker Turner and Carolyn Turner; one brother, Dean Turner; her parents; paternal grandparents, Julie Mae and Mckinley Burks; and her maternal grandparents. Her cherished memories are left to her sisters, Debbie Freeman, Nancy Baker Phillips [Marcellous, Nellie Harding of Enid, Bernice Turner, Cherokee, Okla., Joyce Turner of Olathe, Kan.; a dear sister-in-law, Mary Ellerby Cooper of Enid, Okla.; her brothers, Michael Burks, Joe Harvey Baker [Annie], Terry Freeman, Will Smith Turner, Tulsa, Okla., James Turner of Oklahoma City; 24 special nieces and nephews that she helped raise, Kenneth Burks, Keysha Turner, Julie Burks, Michael Joe Burks, Toby Turner, Tyrone Burks, Kelly Turner, Lillie "Na-Baby" Richey, Lorene Richey, Deshay Burks, Tremon Richey, Debbie Richey, Elias Burks, Tarin Baker, Amos Baker, DaShawn Baker, Correll Baker, Amy Larson, Ron Larson, Justice Burks, Tavian Marty, Miah, Kyra and Darrian Burks; and a host of other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
