Ronald Edward Tunnell
July 16, 1943 ~ December 13, 2017


A Celebration of Life for Ronald Edward Tunnell, age 74 years, of Enid, is 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2017, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Ronald was born July 16, 1943, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Leo and Edna [King] Tunnell, and passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017, in Enid.

Ronald graduated from Enid High School, and then served his country for eight years in the United States Navy. He married Sherry Takizawa July 24, 1966, in Tokyo, Japan, and then was stationed in San Diego, California, where their daughter Sherry was born. After being discharged from the Navy, they made their permanent home in Enid. Ronald was employed by the City of Enid where he worked as Parks Manager until his retirement. Ronald enjoyed building remote control cars and loved racing them with Sherry and his family. He was also involved in leather crafting, making purses, belts, wallets and various leather goods. Ronald was especially fond of his dog Rachael the Shih Tzu.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Edna Tunnell.

He is survived by his wife Sherry, of the home in Enid; three children, Sherry Schultz and husband Terry, of Enid; Mary Ann Esqueda and husband Michael, of Enid; Terry Tunnell and wife Kristen, of Enid; ten grandchildren, Jennifer Schultz, Chris Schultz, Tracy Tunnell, Maria McDonald, Jordan Scott, Kasen Armour, Michael Esqueda, Bradley Tunnell, Alyssa Tunnell, Kalli Tunnell; eight great-grandchildren; as well as other family and friends.

Memorials in Ronald's name may be made to Enid SPCA or FURever Friends, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Sherry [Takizawa] Tunnell
February 8, 1941 ~ February 25, 2022


A Celebration of Life service for Sherry Tunnell, age 81, of Enid will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel, with Rev Vernon Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sherry was born February 8, 1941, in Yokohama, Japan, to Tsuneo and Kimmie [Katayama] Takizwa and passed away Friday, February 25, 2022, in the Garland Road Nursing Center. She married Ronald E. Tunnell on July 24, 1967, in Tokyo, Japan, and he passed December 13, 2017. She worked in building maintenance for the City of Enid, retiring after 23 years.

She was a member of Victory Bible Church.

Sherry is survived by her children, Sherry Schultz and husband Terry, Mary Ann Esqueda and husband Michael, and Terry Tunnell and wife Kristen; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love or Enid SPCA, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
