© Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Enid, Oklahoma October 14, 2021 July 27, 1951 ~ October 14, 2021 The Funeral services celebrating and honoring the life of Frank Edward Thornesberry, 70, of Enid, formerly of Bowie, Texas, will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday October 20, 2021, in the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Bruce Johnson officiating burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors being presented by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Frank was born July 27, 1951, to Lee Roy and Jesse Thornesberry in Bowie, Texas and passed from this life October 14, 2021, in Enid, Oklahoma with his wife by his side. He was raised and educated in Bowie, graduating from Bowie High School in 1969 where he was a member of the Bowie High School Band. After High school he joined the United States Navy and served aboard the S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt for 8 years. After his Honorable discharge he attended Texas Tech University majored in Agriculture Education. He then attended Dallas Institute of Funeral Service graduating with a degree in Mortuary Science in 1982. He was a fully licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for over fifty years. He served many families in the Hampton-Vaugh Funeral home, of Wichita Falls, Texas, Corley's Funeral Home, of Corsicana, Texas, Brown Funeral Home, of Borger, Texas. He married the love of his life Linda Hunt March 23, 2012. The couple made their home in Enid. He worked for Brown-Cummings Funeral Home, of Enid, Ok. until his passing. He was an active member of The First Church of the Nazarene. Frank truly enjoyed people and never met a stranger. He had a rich sense of humor and enjoyed a good joke and always had time for a story or five. He cherished spending time with his family especially his grandchildren who where a constant joy to him. He is survived by his wife Linda Thornesberry, of the home, two sons, Duane Hocker, of Oklahoma City, and Scott and Monica Hocker, of Cashion; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, his dog Tiny, that he loved so much, and numerous extended family and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Lee Roy and Jesse Thornesberry and one brother, Richard Thornesberry that he has now been reunited with in heaven. |
