Graveside services for Charlie Thompson, Jr, 82, Enid resident, will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 31, 2020 in the Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Norris Williams officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday evening, July 30, 2020 at Stittsworth’s. Services are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Charlie was born on August 9, 1937 in New Boston, Texas, the son of Charlie, Sr and Josie (Burns) Thompson, and passed away suddenly on July 19, 2020 in Enid. He began working at a young age at Wig Foster Dairy Farm. In 1964, Charlie moved to Enid, and began working at Oakwood Country Club. He worked there for fourty years prior to retirement. Charlie then worked for an elderly lady until she passed. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Charlie was preceded in passing by his parents, five brothers, three sisters, daughter Sandra Dee, two grandchildren, ex-wife, Evelyn Thompson, longtime companion Gloria Smith and son-in-law, Ricky Logan.

Charlie is survived by his three daughters, Annette Thompson, Joanie (Bruce) Griffin, Charlotte Logan, all of Enid; sons, Paul Thompson of Tonopah, Arizona, and Charlie Thompson of Custer, Washington; brother, Robert (Mary Sue) Thompson; two sisters, Willie Rose, Ella Mae Neal, all residing in New Boston, Texas; eleven grandchildren; Koriandra (Tyler) Sawyer, Paul Thompson, Jr, Kiara, Karissa of Tonopah, Arizona, DeMarcus Thompson, Shamika (Patrick) Travis, Shanelle Griffin, Chasity Romero, McKenzie Logan, all of Enid, Oklahoma, Brandon Thompson of Bellingham, Washington, Kevin Harris of Phoenix, Arizona; fifteen great-grandchildren. Charlie also helped raise Roy Smith of Dallas, Texas, Felicia Mathis of Oklahoma City, five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
