Donald Root will officiate with burial in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs Thompson lived at 1504 Indian Drive. She was born in Sunmer Co. KS and came to OKla. at the opening of the Cherokee Strip, September 16, 1893. She has been a resident of Enid since 1919. She was a member of the Hite Blvd Christian Church; the Order of the Eastern Star, chapter 36; and Tresner court order of Amaranit. Survivors include on sister, Mrs J. T. Tresner. Enid; several nieces and nephews, including Jack N. Tresner of Enid. |

He accepted that long awaited call, and he is in Heaven now with the Love of His Life, Edna. The family will receive friends at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2012. Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Rev Gerald Roggow will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Wilbur was born August 2, 1924, in Jet, Oklahoma, to William and Reta Thompson. They later moved to Goltry, Oklahoma. In 1942, he joined the United States Navy and proudly served in World War II. After being discharged in 1947, he returned to Enid, Oklahoma. On April 18, 1948, Edna and he were united in marriage. To this union, they had two daughters, Sonja and Kay, and one son, Wilbur Jr, who was stillborn. Wilbur worked at several different jobs until he found his true calling, which was being a tile setter, which he did for several years in the Enid area. In 1966, Wilbur went to work for Enid Public Schools, where he served as a custodian and worked in the warehouse and as a carpenter until retirement in 1986. Wilbur always said, "He never had a chance, because he was surrounded by women." Wilbur is survived by his daughters, Sonja and husband John Slavin of Enid, OK, and Kay and husband James Gardner of Dover, OK; granddaughters, Angela Blair and fiancé Edward Barns, Christy Slavin of Enid, OK, and Kimberly and husband Dean Jones of Apache, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Brittany and Brieanne Mullenix and Brendan, Mikaela and Colton Barns all of Enid, OK; two sisters, Rita Pelfrey and Sonja Hyke of Enid, OK; and a host of nieces and nephews. Wilbur is preceded in death by his wife, Edna Gunning Thompson; son, Wilbur Jr; parents; grandson, Michael; brothers, Jack, Walter and Ira Lee; and sisters, Viola, Eleanor and Neva Jo. Wilbur will be missed. He always will be remembered for never growing up and always enjoying life, his family and his loving God. |
© Anderson~Burris Funeral Home Enid, Oklahoma July 2016 January 22, 1925 ~ July 8, 2016 Evalyn Myrle Ashcraft Thompson, was born in Jet, Oklahoma on January 23, 1925, to Earnest Roy and Bothilda Myrle [Broom] Ashcraft. She went home to be greeted by the Lord on Friday July 8, 2016 in Enid. She graduated from Cleo Springs High School in 1943. She married Denzil Roy Thompson at Cherokee, Oklahoma on March 21, 1945. To this union was born four children. During their marriage, Denzil served in the United States Air Force, which took them to many locations around the United States, England, Vietnam, Aleutian Islands, and the Philippines. After Denzil's retirement in 1972, they returned to Enid, Oklahoma where Evalyn began working at Vance Air Force Base and remained there until 1990 when she retired at the age of 65. She was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil, her parents, her oldest son Dale, her brothers Leonard and Ernest Ashcraft and sister Ann Koehn. Left behind to morn her loss is James and Christy Thompson, Debora Thompson and Charles Thompson, all of Enid, ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She is also survived by one Brother Leo Ashcraft of Mount Vernon, TX. A celebration of Evalyn's life will be 1:00 PM, Monday, July 11, 2016, at Central Assembly of God Church . Ron Taylor and the Rev Randy Weaver will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with full military graveside rites by the Vance Air Force Base honor guard. He was born Septrmber 7, 1932, in LaCrosse, Va., to Joseph B. and Willie Lee Reese Thompson and died Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at Clinton Veterans Center. He served in the Air Force for 10 years, then worked at Vance for Serve-Air and Northrop for 48 years. He married Yvonne Melville Book July 7, 1992, in Eureka Springs, Ark. He was a supervisor in vehicle maintenance operations and motor pool before retiring in 1998. He was a member of D.A.V., Air Force Sergeant Association, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Moose Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Yvonne, of the home; two sons, Howard Thompson Jr. of Enid and Brian Thompson of Oklahoma City; two stepsons, Tony and Micky Peterson, both of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Evelyn Flowers of South Hills, Va., and Flossie Wray of Petersburg, Va.; two brothers, Joseph and Herbert Thompson, both of Petersburg; four grandchildren; and two stepgrandsons. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday evening, July 30, 2020 at Stittsworth's. Services are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Charlie was born on August 9, 1937 in New Boston, Texas, the son of Charlie Sr and Josie [Burns] Thompson, and passed away suddenly on July 19, 2020 in Enid. He began working at a young age at Wig Foster Dairy Farm. In 1964, Charlie moved to Enid, and began working at Oakwood Country Club. He worked there for forty years prior to retirement. Charlie then worked for an elderly lady until she passed. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Charlie was preceded in passing by his parents, five brothers, three sisters, daughter Sandra Dee, two grandchildren, ex-wife, Evelyn Thompson, longtime companion Gloria Smith and son-in-law, Ricky Logan. Charlie is survived by his three daughters, Annette Thompson, Joanie [Bruce] Griffin, Charlotte Logan, all of Enid; sons, Paul Thompson of Tonopah, Arizona, and Charlie Thompson of Custer, Washington; brother, Robert [Mary Sue] Thompson; two sisters, Willie Rose, Ella Mae Neal, all residing in New Boston, Texas; eleven grandchildren; Koriandra [Tyler] Sawyer, Paul Thompson, Jr, Kiara, Karissa of Tonopah, Arizona, DeMarcus Thompson, Shamika [Patrick] Travis, Shanelle Griffin, Chasity Romero, McKenzie Logan, all of Enid, Oklahoma, Brandon Thompson of Bellingham, Washington, Kevin Harris of Phoenix, Arizona; fifteen great-grandchildren. Charlotte was born September 7, 1937, on the mountain top of Rockbridge County, Va., and later moved to Mecklenburg County, where she met her husband Percie W. Thompson. After marrying, Charlotte and Percie traveled with the military until making Enid, Okla their home. Charlotte is survived by four children, Edith Ann Barnes "Sissy," Tommy Dewayne Thompson, Barbara Ann Brown "Bobo" and Richard Watkins Thompson. Charlotte has 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Charlotte has one sister, Mary Alice Parish and husband Johnny of Dolphin, Va.; five brothers, Robert Hostetter and wife Faye of South Hill, Va., J.L. Hostetter and wife Katherine of SouthHill, Va., Calvin Hostetter of Baskerville and Charles Ricky Hostetter of Lawerneville, Carson Hostetter and wife Joan of Georgia. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Percie W. Thompson; two brothers, Eugene Leslie and Jerry Wayne Hostetter. Friday May 20, 2022, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home with Pastor David Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Mary Jean was born November 22, 1944, in Enid, Oklahoma to Harvey and Frances [Evans] Grimes and passed on to her eternal resting place, Friday, May 6, 2022, and is now on her best journey yet. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend to all who adored her. She was the oldest of two who grew up on a family farm full of fond memories in the Carrier-Hillsdale rural area of Oklahoma with her brother, Randy Grimes. She was proud to be named after her maternal grandmother, Mary Thelma and her Aunt, Willa Jean. Treasured memories growing up were made with her cousins and wonderful grandparents Mono & Grandpa Earl Evans. Mary Jean attended grade school through high school in Hillsdale, Ok. She was a Christian and a member of the Carrier Congregational Church. She played basketball and was a lefty with the best left-handed layup. Active in the Garfield County 4-H Club, she was awarded the 4-H Hall of Fame Scholarship and her picture hung in the State of Oklahoma Capitol Building. She lived up to the 4-H Club Motto, "To Make the Best Better" - I pledge: My head to clearer thinking, My heart to greater loyalty, My hands to larger service, and my health to better living, for my club, my community, my country, and my world. Of the 5 classmates in her graduating class of 1962, no doubt she was Valedictorian of Hillsdale High School. She attended Oklahoma State University and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Mary Jean delighted in raising her three daughters, Laurie, Leslie, and Tanna in Houston, TX on the best street with the best of friends on Roos Road. Her girls were her pride and joy and she always let them know that she loved them MORE! Always their biggest cheerleader throughout the countless fun, love, and laughter they had together. She was a devoted and involved mother, a role model and matriarch who lit up the room and was the life of every party. Travel became her passion, and she was a dedicated Travel Agent who lived and loved what she did, especially cruising. Many fabulous trips have now become cherished memories being blessed with the best in the business as our Mom. Specializing in Luxury Cruises at Campbell Travel, Eagle Travel, Voyagers, Thompson Travel, and Sanborn Travel left behind a legacy of friendship and mentorship to an army of friends in the industry who respected, admired and think of her as an icon. Mary Jean loved family gatherings, any type of social outing, cheering on her grandsons in sports, sharing uplifting messages on Facebook, watching basketball, reading, music, Veuve and her margarita on the rocks. Affectionately known as Grandma Mary Jean by her grandkids, she was loved for her warmth, kindness, and great sense of humor, and for her unique beauty - inside and out. Mary Jean had a heart for generosity. Her style was impeccable, and she carried herself everyday with such class, elegance, and grace - characteristics that so many admired about her. Mary Jean was one-of-a-kind and will be remembered for her stunning smile, her infectious spirit, and her beautiful heart which was a prominent part of her everyday charm. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive everyday by her three daughters: Laurie Rice, Leslie Hilberth, and Tanna Hundley, and two son-in-laws, Brian Hilberth and John Hundley. Plus, seven wonderful grandchildren: Evan Rice, Lane Rice, Reid Rice, Blake Hilberth, Brody Hilberth, Brooks Hilberth & Haley Hundley. And many other family members, lifelong friends, and travel industry partners from all over the world. Mary Jean was preceded in death by her brother, Randal Grimes, and her parents, Harvey and Frances Grimes. An intimate family funeral will take place at 10am on Friday, May 20, at the Chapel at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home in Enid, OK. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the United States Army. He was born on June 11, 1950 in El Reno, Oklahoma, the son of Everett Sr and Ruth Louise Sneiff Thompson, and passed away peacefully on December 10, 2022 at his residence. Everett married Judy Sharon Punneo in Enid. Everett served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War as a member of the 10st Airborne. He was honorably discharged on May 18, 1978 with rank of E-5 and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He worked as a heat and air manager. Everett was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association and American Legion and a proud member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribe. Survivors include his wife, Judy of the residence; his daughter Kelly Peterson, son Bryan Thompson, and grandchildren Brynn and Blake Peterson. Reverend Bobby R. Hall will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Tommy went to meet his Savior on November 15, 2018. He was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and passed away at the age of 50. In 1986, he met his loving wife Teresa and they married in 1987. Tommy worked in the oilfields most of his life. He loved fishing, playing guitar and working in his shop. His time spent with his family and granddaughters was his most enjoyment. Tommy was preceded by his parents, Percie and Charlotte Thompson, and one brother, Michael. Tommy is survived by his wife Teresa, of the home; his son Tommy Jr. [Megan and 4 grandchildren] and son Travis; brother Richard [Laresa]; sister Barbara Brown [Gary] and sister Ann Barnes; along with many extended family members. |

She attended Enid High School. She moved to Tahlequah for a brief time then returned in 2006, to make Enid her home. She worked at Eagle Painting, her family's business before working for FedEx. She was always a hard worker and amazing mother. Her kids were her life. The love she has for Hanna and Gabriel is endless. She is survived by husband, Jesus Calvillo; daughter, Hanna LaVonne Hardison; son, Gabriel Jesus Calvillo; mother, Sherry LaVonne Thompson; father, Rick Thompson and stepmother, Elizabeth Thompson; grandmothers, Freda Goodnight and Nancy Goforth; grandfather, Leon Thompson; sisters, Brittany Baine, Mika Davis, Lilly Thompson, Molly Thompson and Leah Carlile; stepbrothers, Frank and Jason Whittmire; stepsister, Angela Lee; stepfather, Bob Baine and wife Karen; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and loving friends.
