Memorial Park Cemetery


Funeral services for Pastor Lester Eugene Turner, Jr., 73, Enid, will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Military graveside rites will be coordinated by the Silver Talon Honor Guard through Vance Airforce Base.

Pastor Turner was born on October 20, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Lester, Sr. and Eilene Destocki Turner, and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in Oklahoma City. He was raised and educated in Columbus, graduating from high school in 1959.

Pastor Turner married Betty Ann Smith in LaFayette, Louisiana on December 23, 1962. He graduated from Southwest Louisiana University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Agriculture Education. Pastor Turner taught Agriculture for several years before taking the pulpit. He served his lord for thirty-five years serving churches all over the country, retiring in May of 2015. Pastor Turner was a member of the Southern Baptist Conference.

Survivors include his wife, Betty of the residence; son, Karl (Renee) Turner of Enid; daughter, Theresa (Christopher) Smith of Lincoln City, Oregon; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Turner of Ohio; sister, Jodelle Turner of Ohio, and daughter in law, Kathy Turner of Olympia, Washington.
