Allan was born in Bellville, Illinois, on June 30, 1928, to Frank and Marie Cecilia (Vistine) Sloup and passed away February 6, 2018, in Enid. His mother came to the United States by ship in 1903 at the age of two from Czechoslovakia with her parents and two brothers. His dad was born northeast of Bison. He attended school at Ringwood, Wichita, Kansas and Enid at Harrison, Woodrow Wilson, Emerson, St. Joseph and Enid High. At age 10, he became a member of the Olivet Baptist Church located on North Washington, Enid. He has been a member of Bible Baptist Church at 11th and Maple, Enid, for over 60 years.

While working at the drugstore around 1948 at age 20, two young boys, one whose mother also worked at the drug store, came to him and asked if he would be their Little League baseball coach of the 13 and under league, so he did. Then in 1966, when he was 38, he coached age 9 and under in baseball two years. Later he coached age 10 and under for two years. Then he helped another coach for age 11 and under for one year. One of the youngsters later was Mayor of Enid; another was superintendent of Enid Schools; another played for the Pittsburgh Pirates; and another later became an auto dealer. All his life he was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing cards.

On January 24, 1949, he and Mary Sue Wackerman were married in the First Baptist Church, Enid, by Rev. M.F. Ewton. They were blessed with daughter Sharyl, son Gary, and son Randy, who is now deceased. He worked in sales for Bond Bread Company in Ponca City and Enid for 27 years. Later, he worked in sales for Rainbo Bread in Enid 10 years, retiring in September 1987. Upon retiring they traveled much of the United States. They joined the Coffee Mates Camping Club and he served as Vice President one year and President three years. By September 1988, he started driving dealer trades for car dealers. He had driven over a million miles for car dealers as of December 2007. Sometimes he would fly one way and drive back to deliver cars. After May 2010 he discontinued this activity, having driven for 22 years. On September 22, 2000, he married Mary Lou Swander in Eureka Springs, AR.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Randy in 1990; wife Mary Sue, in 1998; and brother-in-law Lynn Maxwell.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Sloup, of the home in Enid; daughter, Sharyl and husband John Gephart and family, of Enid; son, Gary and wife LaRhonda Sloup and family, of Oklahoma City; sisters, Sara and husband Darrell Hawkins, Pennsylvania; Arlene and husband Bob Bottenfield, Riverside, CA; and Aline Maxwell, Albuquerque, NM. He also leaves ten grandchildren, Erin, Stephanie, Kasey, Kristen, Mary, Rileigh, Noah, Amanda, Bradyn and Hannah; and nine great-grandchildren, Cortnee, Brooke, Parker, Sadie, Harlen, Zealand, Aekley, Rowan, and Mason.
