Elizabeth Eilene "Beth" Smith
June 13, 1941 - May 15, 2023

Funeral services for Beth Smith, age 81, of Enid, will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2023, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, with Reverend Vernon Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Beth was born June 13, 1941, in Ellensburg, Washington, to Joseph and Dora (Grindrod) Colten, and passed away Monday, May 15, 2023 in Enid. Beth graduated with the class of 1959 from Anaheim High School, in Anaheim, California, where she played on the volleyball team.

She married Vern Smith on December 9, 1961, in Stanton, California. Together they had three sons, Wayland, Marc and Jason. The family moved to Enid in 1970 when Vern was transferred from the Post Office in La Puente to the Enid Post Office, and have made their home here since then. Beth enjoyed baking cakes for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays, and occasionally gingerbread houses. She also enjoyed gardening, growing roses and tomatoes. She and Vern enjoyed watching their grandchildren play multiple sports.

Beth is survived by her husband of 61 years, Vern Smith, of the home in Enid; three sons, Wayland Smith of Edmond, OK, Marc Smith of Broken Arrow, OK, and Jason Smith, of Enid, OK; niece, Chelsea Morgan and husband Dylan, of Oklahoma City, OK; Dora DiGiacinto and husband Justin, of Piedmont, OK; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Colten of Gainesville, TX; and one sister, Christie Collins and husband Craig, of Enid, OK.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jack and Roy Colten.
