ENID — Marguerette Geraldene (Jerry) Ryan passed away, Saturday, October 8, 2011, after a brief illness. Jerry was the youngest of three daughters born to Edward (Eddie) and Lottie (Shorter) Ryan in Hillsdale , OK, on August 23, 1933.

She grew up on the farm, developing many life-long friends in the Hillsdale area and a love of the farm that was always home. She graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1951 and moved to Oklahoma City to attend nurse's training at St. Anthony's Hospital. After graduating in 1954 as a registered nurse, Jerry began her nursing career at Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City. For the next four decades, she touched the lives of families across Oklahoma in various capacities from staff nurse to assistant administrator before retiring in 1993.

After retirement, she continued to be active as a volunteer in the community and in various ministries in her parish of St. Patrick's. She loved life and being with family and friends. Jerry always remembered and celebrated the milestones of those around her — large and small. Her sisters' children still fondly remember gatherings on the family farm every summer made all the more exciting with the boxes of fireworks she could be counted on to bring.

Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Lottie Ryan, and sisters, Colleen (Ryan) Miller and Norma (Ryan) Taylor and brother-in-law, Paul Miller. She leaves to cherish her memory brother-in-law Clayton Taylor Sr.; nephews, Kim Taylor, Kevin (Charlotte) Taylor, Clayton (Julie) Taylor Jr. and Randall Miller; niece, Pamela (Dave) Summers; several grand-nieces and nephews; numerous cousins in the Ryan and Shorter families; and a host of dear friends throughout Oklahoma.

Jerry lived her faith every day — trusting in the Lord and striving to serve Him here by serving others. In lieu of flowers, she requested donations by made to Catholic Charities or Habitat for Humanity.

Services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Oklahoma City, OK. Father Thomas McSherry will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery , Enid, OK at 3 p.m. There will be a Rosary Friday evening at the Buchanan Funeral Services, Oklahoma City, at 7 p.m. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

The family thanks all those who loved her as we did and provided her comfort and help during her illness. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
