Jose G. Quintanilla

June 22, 1937 - July 6, 2021

Funeral services for Jose Quintanilla, 84, will be held 10:00 am, Friday, July 9, 2021 at Ladusau-Evans Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home to greet friends on Thursday from 6:30pm-8pm. Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Jose was born June 22, 1937 in Willacy County, Texas to Miguel and Evangelina Quintanilla and passed away July 6, 2021 in Enid. He graduated from Harlingen High School in 1956. He joined the Air Force after school and served for four years. Jose was a worker. He loved his time at Vance AFB and did so for 40 years. He liked anything that pertained to farm work. Jose had a great sense of humor and loved being around children and animals. He had a nickname for each of his grandchildren. Jose enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling. In 1961, he married Patsy Keepers and to that union was born a daughter, Melinda. Through this marriage he is survived by stepchildren, Debi, Cindi, Pati and Christopher.

In 1980, he married Sandra Reed; children, Gary Reed (Judy) and family, Shawna Gaines and family, Christopher Scott (Renee) and family, Melinda Fletchall and family; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Elida Gonzalez, Lala Sanchez, Irene Hinjosa, Arturo Quintanilla and Rita Franco, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial donations can be made to St Jude Research Hospital or the Shriners with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
