"Out of love and safety for the health of our family and friends, the Bette Owens family will save our visitation, hugs, and personal greetings for you when a Celebration of Life is held in the future. Thank you for your prayers." A Private Family Graveside services for Bette Maxine Owens will be held 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Tom Stanley officiating. Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The casket will be opened for visitation Monday, December 28 from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm.

Bette was born in Winslow, Arkansas the 5th of 6 children of J.J. And Myrtle Osburn. Bette adored her siblings Hobart Osburn, Donald Osburn, Rema Carson, Thelma Price and Gayle Lewis and their families.

The Osburn family moved to Enid from Hutchinson, KS in 1929 and quickly joined Central Christian Church. Bette's mother provided rooms in their home for young men who recently graduated from John Brown University on a program sponsored by Union Equity. One of these young men was Harold Owens. He was lucky enough to board in the Osburn's home and met Bette when she was a senior in high school. They fell in love and married in 1944. Bette and Harold raised 4 children. All were active at Central Christian. Bette was proud of her 90+ year membership in the church. She was active in the Sooner Sunday School class and CWF, was cateress for more than 10 years in the 70's and 80's and held a Monday Bible Study in her home for about 12 years.

She is survived by son Jim Owens (Pat) of Enid and daughter Jane Wellman (Thomas) of Lago Vista, TX, 6 grandchildren -Jason Johndrow (Kecia) of Cedar Park, TX, Nathan Johndrow (Page) of Lago Vista, TX, Jonathon Wellman of Honolulu, Hawaii, Laura Owens Bell (Ralph) of Elkins, AR, Carrie Owens Cottone (Jason) of Mandeville, LA and Brian Self (Debbie) of Oklahoma City, OK, and 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Bette is preceded in death by her husband Harold and her twin sons Larry and Leslie.

Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
