Funeral services for Mona R. Outhier, 54, will be Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Meier officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Mona was born to Joe H. and Marjorie Cantellay in Enid, Oklahoma on February 9, 1957 and died July 23, 2011 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, Enid.

Mona attended Chisholm and Enid schools. She was employed for several years at the Enid State School before leaving the workforce to devote all her time to homemaking and raising her family. On January 31,1976 she married Mike Outhier in the Trinity United Methodist Church in Enid. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, always putting her family first in her life. She loved and cherished her grandchildren, whom always loved “going to Nana’s.” Mona was a very outgoing and people-oriented person who enjoyed singing karaoke, playing on dart league and traveling to places with her husband. Her dream of seeing Loretta Lynn in concert was recently realized, as was a vacation to Las Vegas. She also enjoyed collecting and trying out new recipes, emailing friends and working on her computer.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Mike; sons Jeremy and Justin; daughter, Lisa; grandchildren, Katie, Amethyst, Autumn and Ethan; sister, Marilyn Alcorn; brothers, Mike and John Cantellay; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and a wealth of friends.
