Funeral service for George H. Oller, 96, of Enid, Okla., will be 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. John Wheeler and Don Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

George was born June 18, 1918, in rural Noble County, southeast of Billings, Okla., to Leo and Ethel (Miller) Oller and passed away Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at his home in Enid.

George attended school at Billings and Red Rock, and served in the United States Navy during World War II.

In September 1936, he married Loretta Willis. To this union, three children were born: George Leo, Joona Irene and Marion Dow. In February 1966, he married Mary Hopper and became dad to her five children, David, Kay, Joy, Terry and Mary Beth.

George worked over 35 years at the former Champlin Petroleum Company, retiring as a field gauger. He was a master craftsman and could build just about anything. He collected and restored antique gas and steam engines and electric trains. He was a founder of the Enid Antique Gas Engine and Tractor Show as well as a member of the Oklahoma Steam and Gas Engine Association and the local railroad museum.

George is survived by his wife, Mary; his two children, Joan Houska of Perry and Marion Oller (Mary Lou) of Enid; Mary’s four children, S. David Hopper of Kingfisher, Joy Blakley (John) of Enid, Terry Hopper (Judy) of Palmdale, Calif., and Mary Beth Hinderliter (Bert) of Enid; daughter-in-law, Patricia Oller of Billings, Okla.; 31 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

George was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister, a son and Mary’s daughter.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Central Christian Church.
