The graveside services celebrating the life of Alice E. Oliver, 93, will be held 2:00 PM, Monday May 23, 2016 in the Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Gail Edmison officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Alice was born May 27, 1922 in Mindenmines, Missouri to James “Jim” and Ioma Telly Cheney and passed away May 19, 2016 at The Commons. Alice married Sidney N. Oliver on June 1, 1940, he preceded her in death September 17, 1989. They lived in Chula Vista, California for a few short years before moving to a farm in Rosco, Texas in 1944. In 1947, they moved to Oklahoma where they farmed in Covington and Hunter before purchasing a farm in Marshall. They later sold and purchased a hardware store. In 1964, Sid and Alice moved to Enid and ran the La Fonda Apartments. Alice was a CNA for St. Mary’s Hospital for 10 years until she retired medically. Alice was a member of the Willow Road Christian Church.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Barbara Shepard of Enid; son, Owen Oliver of Kingfisher; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother, Alvin Cheney of Slaton, Texas.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Sid, parents and 2 brothers.
