October 18, 1920 - April 3, 2019

The family visitation Celebrating and Honoring the Life of Lora Lee Oldham, 98, of Enid, will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. A family graveside will be held in the Memorial Park Cemetery privately. Services and complete cremation care are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Lora Lee Oldham was born October 18, 1920, to Oval and Gladys (Davis) Downen on the family farm west of Hennessey, Oklahoma, and passed away Wednesday, April 03, 2019 at her home in Enid at the age of 98.

Lora graduated Lacey High School in 1938 then trained as a beauty operator before her marriage to Neale M. "Tony" Oldham in Enid on October 28, 1940. The couple made their home in Enid 48 years until his death in 1988.

She was a full-time mother/homemaker until her two daughters were grown, then worked as a child nursery attendant at Vance Air Force Base for about 10 years. Her love for children of all ages was unbounded, as all her offspring and many others can attest.

She leaves warm memories of her open affection, encouraging words, and aptitude for winning gin rummy games with under-prepared family members. She remained able to live alone, drive her own car and go out for lunch weekly with her daughters until only a few months before her death.

Lora is survived by two daughters, Vonda (Mrs. Bill Keck) and Donna (Mrs. Larry Hess) both of Enid; grandchildren Robin Keck (Golden Valley, MN), Marla O'Brien (Sauk Centre, MN), Paige Keck (Jersey City, NJ), Jim Keck (Richmond, KY), and Carissa Powell and Casey Hess (both of Enid); twelve-great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Plus nieces, nephews and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tony; a brother, Leo Downen; and a sister, Pauline Krischke.

Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice Circle of Love of Enid with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Condolences to the family may be made online at www.Brown-Cummings.com.
