A celebration of life and remembrance for Betty N. O’Connor, age 78 years, Enid, will be 3 p.m., today, Nov. 21, 2014, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ted Kuschel officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Betty passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, in Enid.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Betty was born Sept. 24, 1936, in Enid, to parents, Mearl Mongold and Essie (Murray) Mongold.

She graduated from Enid High, a member of the class of 1954, then continued her education in nursing at Tulsa University, graduating in 1957.

She retired from nursing at the age of 62. Being a caregiver was her life’s mission and true calling.

She is predeceased by her parents; sisters, Phyllis Wilson and Virginia Fenton; two sons, Patrick O’Connor, Kraig O’Connor; and a grandson, Jordan Harrell.

Betty is survived by three children, daughter, Elizabeth Davis and husband, Terry, of Edmond, Okla.; son, David O’Connor and wife, Lori, of Springfield, Ill.; daughter, Donna O’Connor and B.H. Harrell, of Enid, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Bradley and Rachel Davis of Edmond, Brayden, Chandler and Seth O’Connor of Springfield, Ill., Lacy and Coy Nixon of Enid, and one great-granddaughter, Jordyn Nixon, of Enid.
