July 15, 1948 - September 23, 2020

Funeral services for Bob M. Nunley, 72, of Enid, will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2020, in the Mausoleum of Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors being presented by the United States Navy. Pastor Phillip Gregg will officiate. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Family will gather at the funeral home prior to the service for a time of visitation.

Bob was born July 15, 1948, in Blytheville, Arkansas, the son of Ted and Lessel (Ward) Nunley and died Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at his home in Enid.

He was a proud Boy Scout and received the "God and Country" award in 1963. He enjoyed playing football and was a talented drummer at Earle High School, where he graduated in 1966. Bob then attended Northwest Mississippi Junior College on a band scholarship, where he met his future wife, Marilyn Mansfield.

Bob left college to serve his country in the United States Navy. On February 7, 1970, Bob and Marilyn were married in Norfolk, Virginia, where he was stationed at the time. He was honorably discharged in 1971. In 1981, Bob and Marilyn moved to Enid with their four children. He worked in the grain elevators for nine years before transitioning to St. Mary's Hospital as a security guard. He worked his way up to head of Housekeeping. Marilyn preceded him in death on April 27, 1997.

Bob always had a dry sense of humor. He was an avid Sooner fan as well as a gun and John Wayne enthusiast.

Bob married Penny Bishop and moved to Hannibal, Missouri, where he became a school bus driver. He returned to Oklahoma in 2007, where he remained until his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Lessel Nunley; brother, Ted Nunley, Jr.; sister, Sue Elizabeth Walker; and first wife, Marilyn Nunley.

Bob is survived by a brother, James Butch Rainey; a sister, Nena Camp; children, Michael Nunley, Clif Nunley, Kathryn Myers, Elizabeth Nunley; his second wife, Penny Bishop; as well as stepsons, Jeff Bishop and Shawn Bishop. He was proud Pap-paw to Phillip, Connor, Eddie, Alex, Brayden, Mason, Madelyn, Jazmin, Jade, Maximus, Brandt, Hunter and Holden.

Memorial gifts may be given through Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home to VFW Post 2270.
