December 3, 1936 - June 11, 2020

Funeral services for Richard Dean Nightengale will be Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Mennonite Church, with Richard Stephens officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family present will be Monday evening, 5:00-7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Richard Dean Nightengale was born December 3, 1936, to Ted and Susan (Penner) Nightengale in Homestead, Oklahoma, and passed away Thursday, June 11, in Enid.

Richard worked nearly 40 years between Franklin's Body Shop and Lyle's Body Shop.

Richard married Joann Brakage of Fairview, and three children were born of this marriage: Richard Dean, Jr., Lanett Renee and Randy Lee. Richard married Ruth Simons of Ringwood on August 13, 1977. Darrin Michael was born to this union.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Susan; sister, Alice Bond Robinson; and brother, Alvin Nightengale.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth of the home; three sons, Richard, Jr., (Barbie), Randy (Kim) of Oklahoma City and Darrin (Samantha) of Crescent; daughter, Lanett (Mike) McCoy of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren, Michelle, Gabriel, Nick, Megan, Amanda, Kilea and Haylea; 2 great-grandchildren, Oliver and Evelynn; step-brother, Don Turner, and step-sisters, Doris Brewer and Linda Butler.

Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to OMRF-Cystic Fibrosis or donor's choice. Condolences may be made online at www.andersonburris.com.
