June 27, 1940 - August 13, 2018

Celebration of Life Service for Laura Lee Nichols, 78, Enid, is 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2018, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Nichols officiating. Burial follows in Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Laura was born June 27, 1940 in Drumright, to Buddy and Leola McCoin. She went home with Jesus August 13, 2018.

Laura spent much of her time with her beloved grandmother, Myrtle McKenzie, and attended schools in Drumright where she met Allen Nichols.

Laura and Allen were married in September 1957 and had three children. She was a wonderful, devoted wife and mother. She had a beautiful and giving heart and was full of compassion.

Laura spent quality time enjoying and encouraging her children and grandchildren. She taught all of her children about Jesus and his love for us. She always loved animals and had many pets over the years, dogs, cats, squirrels and even a raccoon named Scooter.

Laura was an avid reader. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, crochet, embroidery and many other crafts. Laura lived an unselfish life, stood by her man, and was always available to her family. We love her and will miss her always.

Laura is survived by her three children, Michael Nichols, Steven Nichols, and Debbie and Ira Smith.

Grandchildren, Erik and Rachael Nichols, Derek Nichols, Kami and Kevin Schwandt, Talli and Matt Lopez, Stevie and Justin Lemery, Robin Nichols and Michael and Ashley Nichols and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Allen G. Nichols.

Memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Diabetes/Stroke Division, with Ladusau-Evans as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be made online at www.LadusauEvans.com.
