May 25, 1929 - January 26, 2019

A Celebration of Life for Inez (Hays) Luvern Nance, age 89 years, of Enid, is 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2019, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with John Doffer officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Inez was born May 25, 1929, in Enid, the daughter of Cecil C. Hays and Opha Mabel (Ivey) Hays, and passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019, in Enid following a short illness.

Inez accepted Christ as her Savior when she was seven years old at Banner Hall, North of Enid. Inez joined Calvary Baptist Church in Enid in 1943, being baptized by H. Grady Lambert. She attended Spring Valley Grade School (north of Enid), Longfellow Junior High and graduated from Enid High School in 1947.

Inez worked as a secretary in the Traffic Department of Champlin Refining Co. from 1947-1952; Peter Kiewit Sons, Omaha, Nebraska, from 1953-1954; and Chevrolet Motor Division Metal Fabricating Plant, Flint, Michigan, from 1954 until her retirement February 1, 1975. She married Tom Nance in Flint, Michigan, on August 30, 1968, and they celebrated 38 years of marriage until his passing on June 10, 2006. She and Tom joined Calvary Baptist Church and were active members there.

Inez is survived by three goddaughters, Sharon Biesbrock, Eileen Paull, and Marie Labo, all from Michigan; sister-in-law, Jean Hays, Scottsdale Arizona; sister-in-law, Verla Hays, of Tulsa; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Tom Nance; sister, Lucile Wojohn; and two brothers, Clifford Hays and Clinton C. Hays.

Memorials in Inez's name may be made to the charity of choice with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
