Pastor Dan O'Daniel will officiate. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Family visitation will be at Meadows Point Apartments, 1225 S. Cleveland, Apt 309. She was born October 28, 1912, in Drummond to Cliff and Hettie Allie Allen and died Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at St Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was raised and educated in Enid, graduating from Enid High School. She married Bernie Martin June 13, 1931. He died March 29, 1990. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for children through adults for 65 years. She was a receptionist for Enid Senior Care for 10 years and worked for Herzberg Fabric for six years. Surviving are one daughter, Joanne Wilson of Enid; one sister, Grace Ferrell of Wichita, Kansas; one brother, Don Allen of Wichita; and one grandson. Martin, 93, of Enid, will be 2 pm Friday, May 22, 2009, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev John McLemore will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. She was born December 24, 1915, on the family homestead near Salt Fork to Joseph and Eda Catherine Neff and died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at Golden Oaks Nursing Home. She was a graduate of Hunter High School and attended nursing school at Enid General Hospital. She married Kenneth H. Martin in 1938 in Enid, where they made their home. She was a longtime member of Central Christian Church, a 50-year member of Chapter DB, PEO, a volunteer at St Mary's Regional Medical Center, a member of Enid Symphony Auxiliary, Junior Welfare League of Enid and Sons and Daughters of the Cherokee Strip Pioneers. Surviving are one son, John K. Martin of Enid; one sister, Jean Pressler of Fredricksburg, Texas; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, two daughters, one brother and two sisters. |

Martin, also known as, Rudolph "Rudy" Amel Martin, was a professional musician and US Army Air Forces veteran who died on June 2, 2011, at the age of 88 in Enid, Oklahoma. Key details about his life and passing include: • Military Service: He served as a waist gunner and radio operator on B-24s during World War II, was held as a Prisoner of War for eleven months, and later played in the Air Force Band. • Musical Career: A professional musician, he played with notable artists including Bob Wills, Patsy Cline, Ray Price, Elvis Presley, and Jimmy Dean. Burial follows in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family is 6-7 pm this evening, November 8, 2016, at the funeral home. Trena was born to Aurelius and Maria [Valdez] Vasquez on August 28, 1924, in Lahoma, and passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016, in Enid. Trena grew up in Enid, and graduated from Enid High School in 1943. She worked at Enid Army Airfield as women's repair team. On October 29, 1945, she married Rudolph Amel Martin in Arkansas City, Kansas. They resided in several states before returning to Enid in 1965. Trena worked at Sears for eighteen years. She was a member of North Garland Church of Christ. Trena was a Sunday School teacher in the past. She also volunteered at St Mary's Hospital for twelve years. Trena is survived by her daughter, Teresa Baker and husband, Bill, of Enid; four grandchildren, Tera, John, Jenny and Andrea; and seven great grandchildren; nephew, Gary, and niece, Mary. © Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma January 1, 2015 July 3, 1926 ~ December 28, 2014 Harrell Eugene "Gene" Martin passed from this life on Sunday, December 28, 2014, in Branson, Mo, from natural causes at the age of 88. Gene Martin was born July 3, 1926, in Anson, Texas, to Jeffrey Killorine Martin and Willie Murtice [Ashley] Martin. During the Great Depression, they moved to Bakersfield, California, where his father worked in the oil fields. While in Bakersfield, Gene met a lovely young lady by the name of Lois Georgene Cox at church. After serving in the Army in the Philippines, he returned to Bakersfield, where they were united in Holy Matrimony on February 2, 1947. To this union were born three daughters, Teresa, Gerene "Renie" and Beverly. In 1955, they moved to Oklahoma, where they made their home in Enid for 35 years. They were faithful members of Garriott Road Church of Christ, where Gene was a deacon for many years. Gene owned and operated Martin's Rat Hole Drilling for 53 years. Rat hole drilling was his passion, and he pioneered the portable rat hole drilling rig operation in Oklahoma, with branch offices in Texas and Mississippi. His three main offices were in Enid, Watonga and Woodward, Okla., where he owned nine rigs and employed 35 people during the oil boom in the '60s, '70s and '80s. In 1989, Gene and Georgene semi-retired to their country retreat, southwest of Watonga, affectionately known as "The Pond." They became members of Watonga Church of Christ during this time. Georgene passed away in 1994. On December 6, 2000, Gene married Virginia Nicholson. They made their home in Wewoka, where they were members of Wewoka Church of Christ. Because of health related issues, Gene moved to Branson in 2012, to be cared for by his daughters. Gene was a very generous, loving man of faith and humor. He loved his God, his family and his business. He loved playing the domino game 42 and telling a good joke. He was the best father, grandfather and friend anyone could ask for. Gene is survived by his wife, Virginia of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, three daughters, five grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild: Teresa [Martin] DeVisser of Branson, Mo, and her family Lisa [Weyerts] Pogue and her children, Ashley McGhee and her son Carter, Tanner McGhee and Austin McGhee of New Braunfels, Texas, and Case and Hillary DeVisser and their children Kate and Livy of Harrisburg, Ill., Gerene "Renie" [Martin] Jordan of Branson, Mo, and her family Angie [Hatfield] Koechel and Keith and their children Kalin and Hayden of Enid; Jennifer [Hatfield] Teague and Andy and their children Tyson, Garrett, Kobe and Camden of Kansas, Oklahoma; Jeff Hatfield and his children Emma and Katie of Enid; Beverly [Martin] Glaze and Terrell [whom he claimed as his own son] of Enid, Okla.; stepdaughter, Marcia [Nicholson] Henderson and Don and their sons Chris and Jeff of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; stepson, Curt Nicholson of Texas; and many other wonderful family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgene, his parents, six brothers, one sister and two great grandsons. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home in Enid, Okla. Family visiting hours will be 5-6 pm today, January 1. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors conducted by the US Air Force Silver Talon Honor Guard. Service is under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Dellis was born May 3, 1929, in Creston, WV, to Robert and Myrtle [Garretson] Martin and died Sunday, November 17, 2013, at his home in Enid. In 1948, he graduated from Iaeger High School in West Virginia. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1950, and after 20 years of dedicated service, retired in 1971. On March 1, 1953, Dellis married Peggy June Wackerman. After his military career, he worked for Clinesmith Furniture from 1971, until his retirement in 1991. He then worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car from 1994 until 2006. Dellis was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Bradley Neil Martin. Dellis is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy; daughter, Terri Roberts of Enid; son, Dellis Keith Martin and wife Kathy of Stillwater; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was born September 6, 1929, in Apache, Oklahoma, to Carl Louis and Jessie Arvella Warner Smith, and passed from this life August 30, 2017, in Enid, Oklahoma. She attended twelve years of school in Apache, graduating from high school in 1947. She then attended Cameron Junior College in Lawton, Oklahoma, where she met Rex R. Martin. They were married on August 28, 1948. She and her husband attended college at Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma, both graduating in 1950. They moved to Grandfield, Oklahoma, where Rex started his coaching career. They moved to Duncan, Oklahoma, in 1954 and then to Enid, Oklahoma, in 1959. Mary taught English, Home Economics, and Foods, at Enid High School and retired in 1988 after 24 years of service. She earned her Master's Degree in Education from Phillips University in 1970. She leaves three children: Michael R. Martin [Jan Becker], Enid; Cynthia L. Skaggs [Mark], Owasso; and Deborah L. Shorter, [AJ], Enid. She had five grandchildren: Katy Martin, Donnie Rex Martin, Melissa Martin, Joe Widmar, and Art Widmar. She also had seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, and nine brothers and sisters. She was a member of Central Christian Church and the Sooner Sunday School class. Enid, Oklahoma November 2020 December 8, 1936 ~ November 7, 2020 Funeral services for Charles Eugene Martin, 83 of Enid, will be Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 2:00 pm in Graceway Baptist Church with Pastor Craig Bruyn officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors by the US Navy. Charles was born on December 8, 1936 in Kiowa, Kansas to Gene and Ethel May [Wright] Martin and passed away on November 7, 2020 at his home. On February 10, 1956, he married Kay Ann West. Charles served in the US Navy for 24 years, retiring in 1980 as a Chief Petty Officer. They returned to Enid, and he worked at Vance Air Force Base retiring in 2000. Charles enjoyed spending time with his family and working outside and fishing. He was a member of Graceway Baptist Church. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Kay; grandson, Scott "Ty" Martin; parents; and two brothers, Duane and Kenneth Martin. He is survived by three sons and their wives, Darrell and Pam Martin of Jet, Darren and Judy Martin of Millington, Tennessee, and Charles and Diane Martin of Enid; 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; three sisters, Beth Tappen, Pam Morgaridge, and Karen [Earl] Smith; two brothers, Harry and Thomas Martin; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. |

She grew up in Enid until the age of 14 when she married her husband Charles E. Martin. Together they lived in various states, being a military family. Together they had three sons. Kay became a licensed practical nurse in 1980, and had a passion for caring for others. She worked in various hospitals and doctor's offices including, St Mary’s Regional Hospital, and retired from NORCE after several years. She enjoyed retirement and spent her time tending to her chickens, sewing, working in her gardens, and being with her family. She was a long time member of Graceway Baptist Church and cherished the friendships she made there. Kay is survived by her husband Charles of the home, three sons, Darrell Paul and Pamela Martin of Nescatunga, OK, Darren and Judy Martin of Millington, TN, and Charles Patrick and Diane Martin of Enid, ten grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other loved ones. © Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma February 25, 2015 January 24, 1942 ~ February 21, 2015 Sandra Susan Martin was born Jan. 24, 1942, in Houston, Texas, to George Edward Tappan Sr and Loretta May [Pray] Tappan. She passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Rebold Manor in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, at 73 years of age. Sandra moved with her family, as a child, to Enid, Oklahoma. She later moved to Okmulgee where she raised her family. Sandra again returned to Enid in the 1980s, when she worked at Enid State School, but returned to Okmulgee in 1994, to retire and be near her family. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and Sandra frequently made visits to people living in nursing homes. She loved to fish and also enjoyed skeet-shooting, bingo, crossword puzzles, dominos, canasta and watching sports. She was well-known for ringing her cow bell while attending her children's and grandchildren's ball games. She was preceded in death by her father, George Edward Tappan Sr; mother, Loretta May Cabaniss; stepfather, Bill Cabaniss; and an infant daughter, Lori Sue Martin. Survivors include her sons, David Martin and wife Dana of Okmulgee and Bill Martin and wife Marilyn of McMinnville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Michael Martin and wife Carrie, John Martin and wife Krystal and Sarah Martin, all of Okmulgee, Stewart Martin of Smithville, Tenn., and Allison Martin of Oklahoma City; brother, George Tappan Jr; eight great grandchildren; and very special friends, Joyce Lee Stevens of Enid, Donna McDaniel of Okmulgee and Glenn and Mary Lou Campbell of Okmulgee. Tommy loved riding his Harley, listening to music, shooting pool and playing in tournaments. He loved all sports, Dallas Cowboy football, Saint Louis Cardinals baseball and the Oklahoma City Thunder. He married Debbie Starr Sparks on June 8, 1996 and had three children, Madison, Noah, and Noelle. He loved his children, his family and friends. He will be missed by them all. He is preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Martin; paternal grandparents Eugene and Ethel Martin; maternal grandfather, Edmund Metts; and grandfather Bill Roberts.
