Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Sunday, October 28, 1979 June 11, 1923 ~ October 25, 1979 Burnie Ray Maness, 56, of 909 W Wabash, died in Oklahoma City's Veteran's Hospital Thursday after a short illness. Born June 11, 1923 in Elerbee, NC, he graduated from high school in Robbins, NC. He graduated from the Croft School of Accounting at Durham, NC, and received a batchelor's degree in accounting from Tri-State College in Angola, Ind. He received his certified public accountant certificate to practice in Michigan and Oklahoma. He owned and operated his own CPA business at home. An Enid resident for a number of years, he served in World War II as a captain in the Air Force. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Enid. He married the former Monta Dusbabek in October 1972. Survivors include his wife Monta; a daughter, Mrs Richard [Gayle] Dyke, Albuquerque. NM; two sons, Mike Maness, Wichita, Kansas, and Tim Maness, Enid; two grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs Kathleen Garner, Vass, NC; Mrs Ruby Gibson, Fayetteville, NC, Mrs Lorraine Holder, Durham, NC, and Mrs Patricia Nye, Fayetteville, NC; four brothers, Paul, Augusta, GA; Ward, Coumbia, SC; Duane, Durham and Wayne, Lynchburg, VA; a stepdaughter, Mrs Jack [Joyce] Unruh, Enid; a stepson, Alan Dusbabek, Enid; five step grandchildren and one step great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Gregg, in 1977, a sister and three brothers. Services will be at 10 am Monday in the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Dr Ron Fellemende officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. |
© Enid Morning News Enid, Oklahoma March 1977 October 31, 1952 ~ March 5, 1977 Gregory was born in Kalamazoo Michigan where he attended the Barbara Hall Military Academy. He moved to Enid when he was in the seventh grade, living here since that time. He graduated from Enid High School in 1970 and was attending Oklahoma University at the time of his death. He was affiliated with the Bible Baptist Church. Survivors include his mother, Mrs Otelia Maness, 408 N. 19 th; his father, Herman Ray Maness, Enid; one sister Mrs Richard [Gayle] Dyke of Albuquerque NM; two brothers, Michael of Wichita Falls TX and Timothy of Enid. |
