Majors, age 79, of Enid, will be at 2 pm Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. G. E. was born August 6, 1936, and was raised by Clyde and Evelyn Majors. He passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015, following a lengthy illness. G. E. attended school in San Diego, Calif. There he met his high school sweetheart, Shirley. They were married October 3, 1955, after G.E. served in the U.S. Marine Corps. G. E. retired from truck driving for 38 years, and he and his wife moved to Enid in 1997. G. E. worked as a camera man for PEGASYS and he enjoyed working as a volunteer at St Mary's Hospital. But G. E.'s favorite thing was being a member of the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association, pitching horseshoes in the local Enid League. G. E. loved to go fishing and watch NASCAR. G.E. is survived by his three children; his son, Neal Majors, and daughters, Deanna Majors and Betty Majors-Zarnowitz and Michael; grandson Les Majors; and three great grandchildren, Alexandria, Logan and Jacob Majors; a brother and a sister. Majors, 72, of Enid, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at Liberty Southern Baptist Church. Rev. Jerry Holt will officiate. There will be a private family burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. She was born May 10, 1936 in Little Rock, Arkansas, to William and Martha Dukes and died Friday, September 28, 2007 at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. She married G.E. Majors October 3, 1955 in San Diego, CA. They moved to Enid in 1997. Surviving are her husband, G.E. of the home; a son, Neal Majors of Enid; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Kristy Majors of Enid; a daughter, Deanna Majors of Enid; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Michael Zarnowitz of San Marcos, CA; four grandsons; and two great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Enid Shrine Club with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family at ladusauevans.com |
