Jeanne Horrall Luther, a 99-year-old Enid resident will be Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Pastor Ronnie Hopkins will officiate. Betty Jeanne Horrall was born April 5, 1925, on a farm home place west of town, to Bert and Lorene [Davis] Horrall. She passed from this life on October 16, 2024, in Brookdale Assisted Living. Jeanne attended Glenwood Elementary, Emerson Junior High, and graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1943. At the age of 20, Jeanne moved to Washington, DC to work for the Bureau of Naval Personnel, during World War II. After moving back to Enid, Oklahoma, she married Anton Ruzek in 1949 and of that union, a daughter, Tary was born. Jeanne continued her Civil Service career in 1956 with the Consolidated Personnel Office at Vance Air Force Base until 1975. She married Earl Luther and moved to South Africa for two years. After returning from Africa, she rejoined the Civil Service in 1980 for 10 years. Then retiring and finishing her career with the United States Government. Jeanne was a lifelong member of Central Christian Church and one of the original members of the Sooner Sunday School Class. She was a member of P.E.O., Chapter DB, and a member of NARFE. She is preceded in death by her parents Bert and Lorene, sister June Smith, and brother Curtis Horrall. She is survived by her daughter, Tary and son-in-law, Reverend Don Johnson, as well as many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. © Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma May 2009 April 5, 1937 ~ April 28, 2009 The funeral for Clark Kimball “Kim” Luther, 72, will be 2 pm Saturday, May 2, 2009, at World Harvest Church. Pastors Brad and Tamy Mendenhall will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. He was born April 5, 1937, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Clark A. and Lois Hobart Luther and died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. He graduated from Hickman High School, Columbia, MO, before serving in the Marine Corps from 1955 to 1959. He worked for Sinclair Oil Co. in Columbia. He later owned Luther’s Rental and Service Station, Warrenton, MO. He married Betty Fischer September 28, 1985. They made their home in Warrenton, where he was a volunteer fireman with the Warrenton Fire Department for 17 years. They moved to Enid in February 2008, where he was a member of World Harvest Church. Surviving are his wife, Betty, of the home; two daughters, Diana Flora of Camdenton, Mo., and Linda Howell of O’Fallon, MO; five stepchildren, Dan Fischer and Don Fischer, both of Warrenton, Kraig Fischer of Herrin, IL, Sandy Foster of Enid, and Cara Murphy of Midlothian, VA; one sister, Rose Mary Castleberry of Austin, Texas; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild. © Anderson~Burris Funeral Home Enid, Oklahoma November 2017 June 27, 1939 ~ November 5, 2017 Funeral service for Betty Luther, 78 of Enid, was Wednesday, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev Ron Stone officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory. Betty was born June 27, 1939 in Perryville, MO, to Harry Alford and Irene Mable [Francis] DeLano, and passed away on November 5, 2017 in Enid. Betty raised 5 children. She was an active member in the Eastern Star and served and was a worthy Matron and District Deputy of the 38th District in 1976. She worked in the schools where she was a secretary for the PTA and worked with the DeMolays. She raced corvettes. Betty loved animals and being outside. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Luther; parents; and sister, Shirley. Betty is survived by her 5 children, Daniel Fischer and wife Kathy of Warrenton, Donald Fischer of Warrenton, Ray Fischer Jr of Herrin, IL, Sandra and husband Ronald Foster of Enid, and Cara and husband John Murphy of FL; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and sister, Barbara Long of Matawan, NJ. |
