Long, age 97 Oklahoma City, is 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in the Garden Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. She was born August 3, 1927, in Leslie, Arkansas to Fritz and Mary Perry Berkenbile, and passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, in Oklahoma City. Lois married Wayne Long on August 17, 1944, in Enid, where they made their home. Lois was a receptionist and secretary for Enid Glass and Wallpaper for a number of years. They moved to Woodward for a few years where she worked for Northwestern Glass and later moved back to Enid in 1969. She was a member of Victory Bible Church and enjoyed various arts and crafts. She was a loving grandmother of Cherrianne Holly of Virginia. She is survived by her nephew Roy Maughan and wife Charlotte of Oklahoma City, nieces Rayeann Sturlock of Lawton, OK, and Dale Lopez of Glendale, CA. © Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma July 12, 2006 April 7, 1947 ~ July 10, 2006 The funeral for Mary Kathleen “Kathy” Long, 59, of Enid, will be 10:30 am Thursday at Central Christian Church. The Revs John McLemore and Don Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. She was born April 7, 1947, in Dayton, Ohio, to Fay D. and Ruth J. Sparks Campbell and died Monday, July 10, 2006, at St Mary's Regional Medical Center. She grew up in Enid, attending Adams, Monroe and Hoover elementary schools and Waller Junior High School. She graduated from Enid High School in 1965. She attended Northwestern State College in Alva and was voted outstanding pledge of Sigma Kappa Sorority 1965-1966. She was a 1969 graduate of Phillips University, Enid. She married Richard Wayne Long June 2, 1966, in Enid. She taught at Harrison, Taft and Cleveland elementary schools, teaching first and second grades 28 years. She was a member of Central Christian Church and the Crusader Sunday school class. She was a director of Good News Gang Puppet Team and a member of the National Education Association and Oklahoma Education Association. She taught piano many years and was a member of Kappa Kappa Iota sorority, serving as secretary. She was the author of a children's book, "But, Grandma, You Can Still See With Your Heart!" Surviving are her husband, Richard, of the home; two daughters, Christi Miller of Piedmont, and Julie Brinkman of San Diego; a brother, John M. Campbell of Enid; and one granddaughter. © Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma February 2015 June 26, 1952 ~ February 15, 2015 Funeral service for Mr. Robert "Bob" Long, 62, of Enid, Okla., will be 2 pm Thursday, February 19, 2015, at First Baptist Church. The Rev Kelly Russell will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-7:30 pm Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at the funeral home. Service is under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Bob passed away early Sunday morning, February 15, 2015, following a difficult battle with a rare and terminal form of brain cancer. He was born June 26, 1952, to Mrs Vera and Mr Marshall Long. He was raised from early childhood by his mother, Vera, and "Dad" Mr Jack Cordell. Bob spent most of his life in Enid, graduating from Enid High School in 1970. He met his wife and love of his life, Connie, while at Central State, and finally settled at VoTech in Enid to receive his computer programming certificate. Bob began his career where he ended it at Vance Air Force Base. Starting with a night shift in October 1973, he worked his way through more than 40 years of technology and changes. That sense of commitment and pride in his work spilled over into all aspects of his life. He was a devoted and loving husband and dad, coaching youth sports, handling repairs and remodels around the home, and traveling the state and beyond to support his children and grandchildren at all of their events. One who was always there for his family and friends with guidance, instruction and patience. He served as a deacon at First Baptist and could always be counted on to lend a hand however he could. He leaves behind his mom, Vera; brother, Richard Long; and sister, Janice Keen and her spouse Tom; many nephews and nieces and families; daughter, Ashlee Walker and husband Bryan; son, Brandon Long and wife, Heather; and grandchildren, Logan, Landon, Lane, Lauryn, Evan and Dylan. He was preceded in death by his "dad" Jack Cordell, and his wife Connie. © Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma March 5, 2013 May 26, 1951 ~ March 2, 2013 Funeral service for Connie Long, 61, of Enid, will be 2 pm Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at First Baptist Church, with Rev Keith Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Family visitation will be 6-8 pm tonight at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Connie passed away peacefully while sleeping on Saturday, March 2, 2013, after a brief and courageous battle with a heart condition. Connie was born in Hobbs, NM, on May 26, 1951, to Robert and Bonnie Cottle. Her dad worked for Phillips Petroleum Co., meaning the family moved from oil camp to oil camp throughout New Mexico and Texas, before coming to Bradley, Okla., where she started the first grade. There, Connie was chosen Carnival Queen, along with her brother as Carnival King. And so began her lifelong affection for all things glamorous! The family moved to Carter Nine, an oil camp near the tiny town of Shidler, Oklahoma, when Connie was in the third grade. She lived there until graduating from high school, and was awarded a Phillips College Scholarship. She began her college career at Oklahoma State, before moving on to Tonkawa, and finally settling at Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. There, she was a member of Tri Sigma Sorority and met the love of her life, Robert Wynn Long. They married in Enid, Oklahoma, on May 24, 1974. She first worked as a secretary at the Speech and Hearing Clinic at the State School for the Handicapped. During this time, she involved these kids in the lives of her family. Survivors include her mom, Bonnie; brothers, Russell, Rick, and Randy Cottle and their spouses, Metha, Linda and Clarissa; many nephews and nieces and families; husband, Bob; daughter, Ashlee Walker, and son, Brandon Long, their spouses Bryan and Heather, and her grandchildren, Logan, Landon, Lane, Lauryn, Evan, and Dylan. She was preceded in death by her dad, Robert Eugene Cottle. |
© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma September 2006 July 17, 1946 ~ September 22, 2006 A graveside service for Larry Wayne Long, 51, of Mesa, Arizona, will be 2 PM Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev Bill Kious will officiate. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. He was born June 11, 1955, in Enid to Wayne and Lois H. Berkenbile Long and died Sunday, September 17, 2006, in Mesa. He attended school in Woodward and then Kemper Military Academy. He married Vanessa Moore in 1974. He served in the Navy from 1974 to 1978, serving in the Vietnam War on the aircraft carrier USS Midway. Following his discharge, he lived in Enid, Woodward and Lindsborg, Kansas, before moving to Mesa where he worked in construction. Surviving are his mother, Lois long of Enid, and one daughter, Cherrianne Long of Harrisburg, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his father. |

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Patrick was born August 2, 1961, in Enid, to A. M. “Mark” and Sue Main Long, and died Friday afternoon in St Mary's Hospital after a short illness. Patrick attended and graduated from Enid High School. He attended Abundant Life Family Worship Center, where he was a door greeter. He loved his church. Patrick is survived by his mother and beloved stepfather, Sue and Marvin Good-pasture of Enid; brother, Steve Long and his wife Peggy of Guthrie; stepbrothers, Gary and his wife Belinda and Terry and his wife Donna, both of Enid. He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Long, and his grandparents, Rev and Mrs Charles Main. Memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Muscular Dystrophy Division with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the fund.
