January 2, 1903 ~ January 10, 1968


Services for Enid realtor, Russell W. Kuykendall, 65, who died Wednesday night in a local hospital, will be at 2 PM Sunday in the First Methodist Church with Dr Robert J. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

He was born in Johnson City, Illinois, and was reared in Shawnee. He came to Enid in 1929.

He supervised the construction of the first B. F. Goodrich store in Enid which he managed for several years. He operated an appliance store from 1947 until 1955 and then managed a fabric store until 1957. In February 1960 he opened the Kuykendall's Real Estate Company.

He was a member of the First Methodist Church, a member of Kiwanis Club for 30 years, member of Garfield Lodge 501 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and also a 32nd degree Mason. He was a Shriner and a member of Akdar Temple, India Temple, Enid Shrine Club, Shawnee Shrine Club and the Shawnee Lodge No. 637 of BPO Elks.

Survivors include one son, Robert, 1745 Pawhuska; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Ball, Seminole, Mrs Frances Lavelle, Miami, Florida; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice May, August 31, 1963.

The Enid Shrine Club will sit as honorary pallbearers.

November 21, 1937 ~ November 7, 2004


Funeral services for Robert Darrell Kuykendall, age 66, of Enid will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Wade Bur-leson officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Darrell was born November 21, 1937 in East St. Louis, Missouri to Robert Byron and WeeNonah Christine Warford Kuykendall and passed away at his home on Sunday, November 7, 2004.

Darrell attended and graduated from Heath High School in Heath, Kentucky in 1955 and received his Bachelor of Science in Math and Physics from Kentucky Wesleyan University in 1969.

He married Peggy Annis on August 2, 1960 in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Darrell moved to Enid in 1974 from Owensboro, KY when he purchased the Beltone Hearing Aid Center and he retired in January 2000.

Darrell was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Emmanuel Baptist Praisingers, he loved to fish, golf, riding motorcycles and 4 wheelers, traveling, singing southern gospel music, going to children and grandchildren activities and sporting events, and spending time with his wife.

His wife Peggy of the home; three sons, Greg and his wife Christi Kuykendall, Todd and his wife Sarah Kuykendall both of Enid, and Eric and his wife Stephanie Kuykendall of Claremore; grandchildren Kaci, Kyle, Christopher, McKayla, Nathan, Lauren, and Erin; one sister Donna Jean Hicks and her husband Don of Joplin, MO and three nieces and three nephews, survive him.

His parents preceded him in death.

Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Bible Academy, Hillsdale Christian School or Legacy Christian School in Claremore, OK with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
