Theodore "Ted" Kurtz
October 10, 1899 ~ August 5, 1947


Funeral services for Theodore "Ted" Kurtz, 53, who died Thursday morning in his home following a long illness, will be at 2 PM Saturday in the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev John Bennett officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Kurz was born March 19, 1923, at Burlington. He came to Enid with his parents in 1933. He graduated from Enid high school in 1941.

He served with the U. S. Army during World War II.

He married the former Irene Harris on December 15, 1946, in Enid.

He was a partner with with Kurtz and Kurtz realtors.

Kurz was a member of the Central Christian Church, the Enid Board of Realtors and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Irene of the home; two sons, Dennis, Enid, and Gary, of the home; one granddaughter; four brothers, W. F., Joshua tree, California, H. R., Enid, Robert R. and George A., Both of Fort Worth, Texas; five sisters, Katherine Kurtz, Arlington, Texas, Mrs Elwood [Beatrice] Driskell, Enid; Mrs D. E. [Eunice] Sedbrook, Del Rio, Texas, Mrs Harry [Alice] Musser, Memphis, Tennessee, and Mrs Forrest [Shirley] Woolery, Oklahoma City.

Those who wish may contribute to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Lung Research, in his memory. Henninger-Allen will act as custodian of the fund.

Joyce Marie [Gray] Kurtz
October 10, 1939 ~ May 12, 2020


A Celebration of Life service for Joyce M. Kurtz, age 80, of Enid, will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev Jim Edmison officiating. Cremation and services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Joyce was born and adopted by the late Theodore and Stella Shattuck Gray in Wichita, Kansas, on October 10, 1939, and passed away on May 12, 2020, at the home with her closest friend by her side.

She married the late Robert G. Abiera in 1955 and is survived by their children: Robert D. Abiera and Kimberly Moorman of Enid, and Angel Arnold of Albion, NY. In 1986, she married Charles Kurtz, and he passed away December 4, 2018. Also surviving her are 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was an avid reader, a music lover, and enjoyed playing her piano. She loved to garden and was a passionate supporter of animal rights.

Memorials may be made to Enid SPCA, Forever Friends and Meow INC, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
