Well Known Enid Resident, Lee H. Kruckenberg, Dies

Lee H. Kruckenberg, 74, first president of the Northwest Sportsmen's Association, died Saturday afternoon in a local hospital following a sudden illness.

His funeral rites will be at 2 PM Monday in the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Dr. R. G. Trent officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Kruckenberg was born July 16, 1889, in Newell, Iowa, and had lived in Enid since 1899.

He was married to Myrtle Lemmon and she preceded him in death October 31, 1970.

Kruckenberg was a member of the Draft Board, and served on it during World War I.

He was associated with the Business Men's Assurance Company for 21 years and had been active in the Republican Party for many years.

Kruckenberg served with the U. S. Army during World War I and was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church, the Masonic Lodge and a charter member of the Northwest Sportsmen's Association.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs LeRoy [Norma] Tabor okay of Enid; three grandchildren; three brothers, Louie C., Oscar and W. J., all of Enid; two sisters, Mrs Ralph O'Malley, Ponca City and Mrs Elvina Marquart, Wichita, Kansas.

Myrtle May Kruckenberg
1897 ~ October 31, 1970


Mrs Myrtle May Kruckenberg, 114 N. 16th, died Saturday morning in a local hospital following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM Tuesday in the Chapel of the Darnall Funeral Home with Dr R. G. Trent officiating. Burial will be in in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs Kruckenberg was born in Billings and had lived in Enid since 1920. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband Lee of the home; a daughter, Mrs LeRoy [Norma] Tabor of Enid; her mother, Mrs Cora Lemmon, Perry; two sisters, Mrs H. S. Simmering, Perry and Mrs Winnie Keasling, Oklahoma City; three grandchildren.

Lee A. Kruckenberg
July 18, 1937 ~ May 4, 1973


Lee A. Kruckenberg, 59, 1218 N. 11th, died early Friday in a local hospital after being stricken the day before.

Kruckenberg was born at Lahoma and was married to Bonnie Brookman on July 18, 1937, in Enid. She survives and other survivors include two daughters, Mrs Tom [Sharon] Hurd, Meridian, Mississippi, and Cheryl Kruckenberg, of the home; a son, Ronnie Kruckenberg of Enid; a step son, Davis L. Brookman of Enid; four grandchildren and his father, W. J. Kruckenberg of Enid.

The Kruckenberg's lived in Waukomis for 10 years before moving to Enid in 1947.

He was in the real estate business for two years and had been an employee of the Enid State School since 1960.

His mother, a brother and a sister predeceased him.

He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church where his funeral service will be at 2:30 PM Sunday. The Rev Glen C. Kollmeyer will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The body will lie in state in the funeral home until 1 PM Sunday and the casket will remain closed following the service.
