Elmer "Bobby" Kroeker
January 22, 1932 ~ December 4, 2023

Elmer Bob Kroeker was called home by his Heavenly Father on December 4, 2023 at the age of 91. He joined his wife of 65 years, Constance Kroeker. He is survived by his four sons and their wives; Tony and Margie Kroeker of Georgetown, Texas; Tim and Charlene Kroeker of Hutto, Texas; Tom and Rhonda Kroeker of Granger, Texas and Terry and Dewana Kroeker of Leander, Texas. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Bob was born in Enid, Oklahoma on January 22, 1932 to Henry and Tena Kroeker. In addition to his wife, Connie, his father and mother, Bob was preceded in death by 4 sister, Alice, Velma, Betty and Kathleen. His is also survived by a sister and brother, Evelyn and Richard.

Growing up in Enid, Bob attended the Mennonite Brethren Church with his family. He worked and paid his way through college receiving his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Physics form Phillips University in Enid. Seeing the promise in Bob and the financial need, Dr. Robert Franz paid for Bob to further his education at Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas. Bob's gratitude for the generosity of Doc Franz led him to establish a scholarship in Robert Franz's name and another in his own name. Both scholarships stand to this day.

Upon completing his education he returned to Enid and married his love, Connie Prickett. Together they moved to west Texas where Bob had accepted a job at Schlumberger. In 1962 Bob began working for IBM. His 25 year career with IBM took him to Oklahoma City, Lexington, Kentucky and finally to Austin, Texas where he settled and raised his family. During his career at IBM, Bob earned several patents for his engineering ideas, one of which he shares with his son, Tony. After his retirement, he and Connie opened Kroeker Machining which they ran together with 2 of their sons, until her death in 2022.

Having grown up in a farming community, Bob always had an interest in tractors and later in his life he began restoring vintage Holt/Caterpillar tractors. Over the years, his hobby took him all over the country, chasing parts, showing one of his tractors and meeting like minded people. He developed many lifelong friendships through his hobby.

Bob was a member of Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin, Texas but has always considered himself Mennonite Brethren. He was very proud of his heritage. His family will tell you there is nothing he enjoyed more than talking about his past, his faith, his family or tractors. To say Bob was a great man is a major understatement. He touched everyone he met and will be greatly missed by his family, friends and anyone that had the chance to know him.
