Reuben E. King
July 12, 1903 ~ March 18, 1944


M. T. [Pete] King, 66, died early Wednesday morning in a local hospital following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Friday in the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Will Lane of the Davis Park Christian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

King was born February 5, 1904, in Lonoke, Arkansas, and moved with his parents at an early age to DeLeon, Texas, where he grew up, attending schools there also.

He and Donnie Pearl Moore were married November 7, 1922, and lived in DeLeon until moving to Enid in 1944, making their home at 118 W. Pine.

King was employed by George E. Failing Company, and retired from WABCO, Inc., in 1963.

He was a member of the Davis Park Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughters, Mrs Walter [Ann] Minor and Mrs Leo [Edna] Tunnell, both of Enid, Mrs Kenneth [Jerry] Roach, Ponca City; a son, Sidney D. King, Enid; two brothers, Sidney D. King, Hemet, California, and Jessie King, Gainesville, Texas; a sister, Mrs Isla Samules, Denver, Colorado; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Donnie Pearl [Moore] King
February 7, 1908 ~ March 1, 1972


Mrs Donnie P. King, 64, died early Wednesday afternoon in a local hospital following a lengthy illness.

Her funeral rites will be at 10 AM Saturday in the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Charles Gibson officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will lie in state until 10 AM Saturday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation with Henninger-Allen as custodian of the funds.

Mrs King was born in DeLeon, Texas, on February 7, 1908.

She and M. T. "Pete" King were married November 7, 1922. They lived in DeLeon until moving to Enid in 1944.

She was a member of the Davis Park Christian Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs Walt [Ann] Minor and Mrs Leo [Edna] Tunnell, both of Enid and Mrs Kenneth [Jerry] Roach of Ponca City, a son, Sideny D. King of Woodward; three brothers, Elgie Moore of Kentucky, Willie Earl Moore, Wewoka and Charlie Moore, Durant; three sisters, Eula Leora Northcutt, Ada, Mattie Lois Jobe of Calera and Betty E. Spencer, Crockett, Texas; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Paul Dubois King
December 2, 1913 ~ Januaery 19, 1975


Paul D. King, 61, Sulphur, formerly of Enid, died Sunday in a Sulphur hospital following a long illness.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 PM in the Chapel of the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home with the Rev Orville Parham officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

King was born December 2, 1913 in Peckham and lived in Oklahoma all his life.

He graduated from Garber high school, then farmed for several years in the Pond Creek area.

He then went into the trucking business, before entering the U. S. Army and serving four years during World War II.

After being discharged from the Army, he re-entered the trucking business in Enid. He moved to Oklahoma City, then to Sulphur in 1962 where he remained until his death.

He is a member of the Methodist Church and American Legion Post No. 35.

Survivors include two brothers, Delbert S. King of Enid and Donald C. King of Pond Creek, three sisters, Mrs John [Martha] Linde of Guymon, Mrs Glen D. [Ruth] Gray, Vinita, and Mrs Merle T. [Marian] Baldwin, Oklahoma City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Margaret "Peggy" [Nichols] King
November 14, 1925 ~ April 4, 2019


Visitation and family reception for Margaret "Peggy" Nichols King, of Enid, Oklahoma, will be 5-7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019, in the Chapel of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Peggy passed away April 4, 2019, at the age of 93. She was born November 14, 1925, in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Peggy attended Central High School and Bacone Junior College in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She graduated from Baylor University, Waco, Texas in 1947.

Peggy was married to Joseph E. King in 1952, where they lived in Muskogee briefly before moving to Okmulgee, Oklahoma. The family moved to Enid, Oklahoma in 1966, where her husband worked for Central National Bank and Trust Company.

While living in Enid, Peggy was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School and served in the Manna Program. She was also a member of PEO Chapter DB, serving in many leadership capacities.

Her husband Joe passed away on April 15, 2011.

She is survived by four sons, Tom and wife, Patty; David and wife, Marilyn; Bill; and Jim and wife, Nancy; eight grandchildren; five great granddaughters and two great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; father and mother, William and Margaret Hansell Nichols; brothers, Lt Col John C Nichols and William H. Nichols; and first cousin Clark Hansell.

The family would like to especially thank all the close friends, caregivers, and Central National Bank, now known as Stride Bank, and Trust Officer, Casey Felix that cared of her while she was living in her home in Enid. Peggy spent the last three years at Heritage Villa Nursing Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Memorial contributions may be given through the funeral home to the Manna Program, First Presbyterian Church, Enid, Oklahoma.

Betty Lou [Rust] King
July 30, 1930 ~ October 2, 2021


The services celebrating and honoring the life of Betty King, 91, of Enid, will be held 2:30 P.M. Saturday, October 9, 2021, in the Westminster Presbyterian Church with pastor Roland Slater officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Betty was born to Ged and Ruby Rust July 30, 1930, near Capron, Oklahoma, and passed from this life October 2, 2021, in Enid, Oklahoma.

The family moved to the Carrier community in 1940, where Betty was raised and educated and graduated from high school in 1948; she was a star softball and basketball player and salutatorian of her class. She then attended and graduated from Enid Business College.

She was hired as secretary to Bud Everitt, manager of Long-Bell Lumber Company. She was one of two remaining women working with the business closed.

The last 10 years of her working life was with her husband at King Appraisal Company.

Betty and Dewey were married April 8, 1950. They were baptized in the First Presbyterian Church December 18, 1955. Their daughter Debra was born December 2, 1956.

She was a charter member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. Her passion was canning pickles, beets, and jams and giving them as gifts.

One of the many highlights of life was playing cards, mostly visiting. with eleven friends regularly.

We were blessed to have many travels with family and friends. She was a cherished wife and mother.

Betty is survived by her husband, Dewey, of the home; and one daughter Debra and son-in-law Loren Clark, of Edmond, Okla.

Donna Fay King
November 27, 1939 ~ March 30, 1977


Mrs Robert [Dona Fay] King, 37, 3106 N. Washington, died early Wednesday in a local hospital following a sudden illness. Her service will be Saturday at 2 PM in Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Dr Irving L. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs King was born November 27, 1939, at Oakwood. She came to Enid when she was six years old and graduated from Enid high school. For several years she had been employed by Enid State School and Bass Memorial Baptist Hospital. On August 29, 1969, she married Robert L. King.

Survivors include her husband, Bob; four daughters, Mrs Larry [Christine] Hopkins, El Dorado, Kansas, Debra Jean, Verna Jane and Twila J. Tidwell, all of the home; three step – daughters, Mrs Mike [Patsy] Phee, Montgomery, Alabama, Mrs Steve [Paula] Brooks and Donna Decker, both of Enid; two step sons, Bobby King, Enid, and Eddie King, Guthrie; five grandchildren; her mother, Mrs Bill [Louise] Shade, Penrose, California; and four brothers, Emil Layton, Enid, Bill Layton, Riverside, California, Albert Layton, El Dorado, Kansas, and Gene Layton, Enid.

She was preceded in death by her father and three brothers.
