Robert H. "Bob" Kindt
1910 ~ 1972


A 61-year-old Enid teacher who attended Oklahoma A & M college for a semester in 1927 and got his degree 44 years later, died Tuesday afternoon in a local hospital.

He was R. H. [Bob] Kindt of 2302 E. Cedar, who has been carpentry instructor at O. T. Autrey Vo – Tech Center since it opened.

Kindt was born in Enid and after leaving college in 1927, lived in various places in the United States while doing construction work. He returned to Enid in 1952.

Kent received his bachelor of science degree from OSU in trade and industrial education in May, 1971.

He and Lucille Swisher were married on December 24, 1929. He was a member of the Davis Park Christian Church, the Odd Fellows Lodge, a member of the Enid Encampment and the Oklahoma Educational Association.

He is survived by his wife Lucille of the home; four daughters, Mrs Keith [Joyce] Sims of Newton, Kansas, Mrs E. G. [Janet] Mulley, West Henrietta, New York, Mrs Brian [Linda] Killiam of Enid, Mrs Russell [Carol] Johnson of Coriapolis, Pennsylvania; three sons, Bill Kindt of Lawton, Leon Kindtt, Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and Larry Kindt, Calhoun, Georgia; 20 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs W. W. [Irene] Dowers, Enid.

Funeral rites for Kindt will be at 4 PM Thursday in the Chapel of the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Gibson and the Rev Bill Bushnell officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Oklahoma Medical Research, Cancer Division, with Ladusau-Evans as custodian of the fund.
