Funeral services for Wilbur E. Johnson, age 83 of Enid, will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 8, 2017, in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Len Coulter officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Monday, August 7, 2017, from 6:30-7:30 PM at the funeral home.

Wilbur was born May 6, 1934, on a farm northeast of Goltry, OK, to Henry and Iva Mae Smith Johnson, and passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 in Enid. He moved to Hillsdale where he co-owned Johnson Garage with his father Hank for several years. Wilbur served in the United States Army. He married Carolyn Hess in Gainesville, TX, in April of 1961, and they moved to Enid in 1964. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Freeman Equipment Co., which later changed to Summit Truck for 53 years. He farmed all of his life until 2009.

Wilbur is survived by his daughter Debbie Coulter and husband Myron of Aline; grandchildren, Brian Coulter of McWillie, Lindsay Garinger and husband Matt of Waukomis, and Lacey Williams and husband Greg of Enid; six great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Johnson and wife Loretta of Plano, TX; and sister, Darlene McNally of Gainesville, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a son, David.
