ENID, Okla. - Funeral service for Alvin W. Johnson, age 91, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Enid Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. Jay Risner officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Alvin was born April 29, 1922, in Hunter, OK, to Ira and Evelyn Lenore Hardy Johnson and passed away Monday, August 26, 2013.

Alvin was raised in the Hunter Community where he attended school. He later attended Enid Business College.

He married Genevieve Sears on October 29, 1943, in Hunter, and she passed away February 21, 2010.

Alvin served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and was honorably discharged in December 1945. He came back to the Breckinridge Community to farm with his family.

Alvin founded and operated JKJ Auction and Real Estate. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Auctioneer Association Hall of Fame.

Alvin was a member of Enid Mennonite Brethren Church. He was a member of North Enid Lions Club and served as a District Governor for Oklahoma Lions.

He is survived by his daughter, Genneane Rowley and her husband, Richard of Haskell, OK; son-in-law, Allen Poindexter of Port Richey, FL; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence and Walter Johnson; two sisters, Evelyn DeBoard and Velma Schultz.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Earlene Kay Poindexter, and older sister, Bernice Buss.

Memorials may be made to North Enid Lions Club and Hope Outreach with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians.
