Harvey W. JOHNS

The funeral for Harvey W. Johns, 72, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. Steve Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

He was born Nov. 1, 1933, in Enid to John and Blanche Beardsley Johns and died Saturday, May 13, 2006, at his home.

He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School. He served in the Army. He married Daisy Henry Aug. 11, 1956. They made their home in Enid. He worked at Franklin Motor Co.

Surviving are his wife, Daisy; three daughters, Chris Johns of Ponca City, Susan F. Strutz of Enid and Debbie Haynes of Oklahoma City; one brother, Robert Johns of Enid; two sisters, Teresa Galusha of Missouri and Pat Traynor of Broken Arrow; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love.

Daisy A. Johns of 1508 S. Baker, Enid, Oklahoma, passed Thursday April 29, 2021, in her home. She has arrived in heaven to be greeted by her many loved ones who have gone before her.

Daisy's memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 7, 2021, in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel, located at 601 W. Broadway Ave., Enid, Oklahoma. The graveside service will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery, 6405 Memorial Dr., Enid.

Daisy Henry was born January 3, 1941, to J.V. Henry and Sarah Annis Henry. Daisy married Harvey W. Johns in 1956, they were married until his passing in May 2006. They are both survived by their 3 daughters, Chris Ann Johns, Susan Fay Strutz, and Debbie Lynn Haynes. Their surviving grandchildren are Jeremy B. Johns of Ponca City, Cory W. Johns of Blackwell, Sadie Strutz of Lawton, Bryann Martinez, of Waukomis, Derek Martinez of Enid, KaAliyah Haynes of Midwest City; five great-great-grandchildren. Daisy is also survived by one sister, Betty Slaten of Roff, Oklahoma, and one brother, Frank Henry, of Kremlin.

Daisy was a member of a ladies quilting group, she loved helping with the quilting and giving the quilts to local charities. Daisy always enjoyed fishing and playing cards with friends and family. Daisy will be missed by those who knew her.

Hospice Chaplin Gary Miller will be presiding over the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the funeral home.
