HUNTER — Memorial service for Gary Dean Johndrow, 69, of Hunter, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Anderson - Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Brian Meyer officiating.

Gary was born to Clifford and Edna (Campbell) Johndrow on Oct. 19, 1941, in Enid and died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, in Enid.

Gary grew up in Hunter and graduated from Hunter High School before attending Junior College.

On Sept. 21, 1962, he married Linda North. They made their home in Enid and Hunter.

Gary served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He farmed his whole life and also worked as a lab tech for Champlin Refinery and was an aircraft mechanic at Vance AFB.

He was a member of Hunter Christian Church and Moose Lodge. Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid sports fan, especially St. Louis Cardinals, OU and OSU football.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, Jeffrey Johndrow and wife Cindy of Pond Creek, and Justin Johndrow and wife Beth of Flagstaff, Ariz.; mother, Edna Jenkins; four grandchildren, Lauren, Krista, Caden and Eli; and two sisters, Linda Handke and Nancy Ashton.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Clifford, and sister Connie.
