The funeral service for Marlene Janzen, 89, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Enid Mennonite Brethren Church. Rev. Lynford Becker and Rev. Garvie Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Marlene was born May 4, 1918 in Enid, OK to Peter and Eva (Regier) Cornelsen and died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at Golden Oaks Nursing Home.

She was raised in Enid and attended Emerson Junior High and graduated from Enid High School in 1936.

She married Clarence Janzen, March 31, 1940 at North Enid Mennonite Brethren Church.

She worked at Woolworth’s and later at Central National Bank in the Trust Department, retiring in 1979. Marlene was a member of the Enid Mennonite Brethren Church. She and Clarence traveled for a number of years in their Airstream motor home.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence; one son, Jerry Janzen and his wife Loretta of Enid; her daughter-in-law, Helga Janzen of Enid; grandchildren, Diane Rempel and her husband Ron of Enid, Michele Trybus and her husband Brian of Denver, CO, Sabine Bomesberger of Enid and Juergen Janzen and his wife Lorrie of Stillwater, OK; seven great grandchildren; and one sister, Doris Bartel and her husband Willard of Enid.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dale and one brother, Harvey Cornelsen.

Memorials may be made to the Enid Mennonite Brethren Church or Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
