OBITUARY
Funeral services for Paul W. Jantz will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2007, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Shorty Unruh will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation with the family from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Paul was born April 22, 1925, in Meno, OK, to Peter and Elizabeth (Becker) Jantz and died Monday, June 4, 2007, in Enid. He married Helen Coward July 4, 1944.
Paul served in the Occupational Army in Europe from 1944 through 1947. After returning from the service, he went back to school and received his accounting degree from Enid Business College.
He began his cooperative work in 1951 as a bookkeeper for the Farmers Cooperative Association in Meno, OK. In 1952, he was promoted to general manager of the Meno Cooperative and served in this capacity for 12 years. He then took a position as auditor with Romine and Thomas Accounting Firm, specializing in cooperative audits. In 1969, he joined Farmers Cooperative Grain Dealers Association as a field representative, was promoted to director of service in 1979 and was then promoted to general manager on May 1, 1988. During his employment he served on many agriculture related boards and committees. In 1990, he received recognition for outstanding service to Oklahoma agriculture by Oklahoma State University.
Paul was a member of the Garfield Lodge 501 and 32 Degree Scottish Rites of Free=2 0Mason, and United Church of Lahoma.
Paul is survived by his son, Rick Jantz and wife Donna of Platte City, MO; daughter, Paula Jantz of Iowa City, IA; granddaughters, Kelly Jantz of Platte City, MO and Tracey Herzog and husband Ray of Kansas City; and one great-grandson, Grant; sister, Elda Faye Fuqua of Enid; and family friend, Joyce Moore of Iowa City, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen, brother Marvin Jantz, and sisters, Elfreida Ensz and Erma Unruh.
