© Enid Morning News Enid, Oklahoma February 1970 March 18, 1917 ~ February 8, 1970 John M. Jantz, 79, Meno, died in a Fairview hospital early Sunday morning following a week's illness. Born in Moundridge, Kansas, he moved to a claim south of Meno staked by his father at the opening of the Cherokee Strip. He had farmed in the Meno community his entire life. He attended the Lone Elm School. He married the former Mary Becker on March 18, 1917 in the West New Hopedale Mennonite Church. He was a member of the Grace Bible Chapel in Meno. Survivors include his wife, Mary, of the home south of Meno; three daughters, Mrs Ralph [Ruby] Everett, La Crescenta, California, Mrs Wanda Koehn, Portland, Oregon, and Mrs Leonard [Vada] Decker, Enid; a son, Aldee Jantz, Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; three brothers, then W. Jantz, Meno, Dave Jantz, Chehalis, Washington, and Willie Jantz, Fairview, and two sisters, Lydia Jantz, Meno, and Mrs David [Anna] Unruh, Perryton, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, a sister and three brothers. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 PM in the Grace Mennonite Church in Enid, with Rev Larry Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. |
© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma December 27, 2007 December 17, 1924 ~ December 20, 2007 The funeral for Aldee W. Jantz, 82, of Enid, will be 2 pm Saturday at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Dennis Treat, pastor, and Shorty Unruh, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. He was born Dec. 27, 1924, in Meno to John M. and Mary Becker Jantz and died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at Greenbrier Village. He graduated from Oklahoma Bible Academy in 1943. He work for Western Union in Enid and Dallas. He retired in 1985. He returned to Enid in 1992. He was a member of Grace Mennonite Church. Surviving are two sisters, Vada Decker of Enid and Wanda Koehn of Portland, Ore.He was preceded in death by one sister. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Grace Mennonite Church building fund or charity of donor’s choice |
Enid, Oklahoma June 7, 2007 April 22, 1925 ~ June 4, 2007 Funeral services for Paul W. Jantz will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2007, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Shorty Unruh will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation with the family from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Paul was born April 22, 1925, in Meno, OK, to Peter and Elizabeth [Becker] Jantz and died Monday, June 4, 2007, in Enid. He married Helen Coward July 4, 1944. Paul served in the Occupational Army in Europe from 1944 through 1947. After returning from the service, he went back to school and received his accounting degree from Enid Business College. He began his cooperative work in 1951 as a bookkeeper for the Farmers Cooperative Association in Meno, OK. In 1952, he was promoted to general manager of the Meno Cooperative and served in this capacity for 12 years. He then took a position as auditor with Romine and Thomas Accounting Firm, specializing in cooperative audits. In 1969, he joined Farmers Cooperative Grain Dealers Association as a field representative, was promoted to director of service in 1979 and was then promoted to general manager on May 1, 1988. During his employment he served on many agriculture related boards and committees. In 1990, he received recognition for outstanding service to Oklahoma agriculture by Oklahoma State University. Paul was a member of the Garfield Lodge 501 and 32 Degree Scottish Rites of Free=2 0Mason, and United Church of Lahoma. Paul is survived by his son, Rick Jantz and wife Donna of Platte City, MO; daughter, Paula Jantz of Iowa City, IA; granddaughters, Kelly Jantz of Platte City, MO and Tracey Herzog and husband Ray of Kansas City; and one great-grandson, Grant; sister, Elda Faye Fuqua of Enid; and family friend, Joyce Moore of Iowa City, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen, brother Marvin Jantz, and sisters, Elfreida Ensz and Erma Unruh. |
© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma February 25, 2018 March 7, 1925 ~ February 22, 2018 Albert Jantz was born March 7, 1925 to Abe and Elizabeth Koehn Jantz in Meno, Oklahoma. Albert died February 22, 2018 at the Greenbrier Skilled Nursing Home in Enid, Oklahoma. He attended school at a country school, Cozy Palace at Meno. Albert moved to Enid and joined the Army. He served in the Pacific Theatre, 95th Field Artillery. After serving and discharged he moved back to Enid and worked. Albert married Darlene Shrewsbury on August 2, 1953. They moved to a farm west of Pond Creek.and farmed from that time. They moved to a farm east of Nash. Albert retired in January 19, 1995. Albert is survived by his wife, Darlene Jantz;, Daughters, Darla Carter; Carma Lewis and husband Kyle; Sons, Larry Jantz and wife Kim; and Terry Jantz and wife LeighAnn. Grandchildren, Rusty Carter; Marisa Carter; Vanessa Bennett & husband Kyle ; Colby Williams; Kayla Monroe & husband Thomas; Kristin Jantz; Kole Jantz; Justin Jantz & Jamey Jantz and nieces and nephews and 6 Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother Ben Jantz, sisters, Ester Penner & Caroline Drage. Memorials may be made to Nash Firemen's Fund. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Nash Christian Church with Rev Richard Craven officiating with interment following in Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid, OK. © Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma March 1, 2021 November 7, 1927 ~ February 28, 2021 A Celebration of Life service for Paul Ray Jantz age 93 of Fairview formerly of Enid will be 10:30 am Friday at the Grace Mennonite Church with Rev. Richard Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Paul was born to Ferd and Caroline (Unruh) Jantz on November 7, 1927 near Ringwood, OK and passed from his earthly life on Sunday February 28, 2021 at the Fairview Fellowship Home. He graduated from Oklahoma Bible Academy in 1946. He married Mamie Jean Buller on June 5, 1949 in Goltry. They were married 71 years and were blessed with two children, son Gary and daughter Sherry. While living in Goltry area for seven years, he worked for the Frisco Railroad. They moved to Enid where he worked various other jobs. He worked 17 years for Champlin Refinery until its closure. Not yet old enough to retire, he worked as a maintenance engineer for the Drummond Public Schools where he retired. Besides camping with friends and family, woodworking became his passion and his pass time in his retirement years making many donations of items for the Mennonite Relief Sale and gifts for family and friends. He was a member of Grace Mennonite Church, where he served approximately 50 years as an usher. Paul is survived by his wife Jean of Fairview, son Gary Jantz and wife Linda of Imperial, Nebraska, daughter Sherry Boehs and husband Bruce of Fairview, seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren which all brought him so much enjoyment. Three sisters, Ethel Schumacher of Tahlequah, Dorothy Perkins and Jane Norwood, and one sister-in-law Sandy Jantz all of Norman. He was preceded in death by his parents Ferd and Caroline, brother Gene Jantz and a granddaughter. Memorials may be made to his beloved Grace Mennonite Church of Enid where he devoted many hours of labor to help build with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 7th from 6:30-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Mamie Jean Jantz age 95 was born near Goltry, Oklahoma on July 21, 1929, to Furd Buller and Nina [Penner] Buller. She went to be with Our Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the Fairview Fellowship Home in Fairview, Oklahoma. Jean, as SHE liked to be called, graduated from Goltry High School in 1948. She married Paul Ray Jantz on June 5, 1949. They were blessed with 71 years of marriage and from this union were born two children, son Gary and daughter Sherry. Paul and Jean lived in the Goltry area for seven years and then moved to Enid, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and also worked for 16 years as a Teacher's Aide at the Cherokee Park School. She was a member of the Grace Mennonite Church where she was active in the music groups, especially the Ladies Trio. One of her other talents was her ability to sit down and play the piano by ear, NO sheet music required. She was also a member of the Women in Missions. Jean's grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her husband Paul, of 71 years passed from this life on February 28, 2021. She is survived by her son Gary and wife Linda of Imperial, Nebraska and daughter, Sherry Boehs and husband Bruce of Fairview, Oklahoma; Seven [7] Grandchildren and Thirteen [13] Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one [1] granddaughter, three [3] sisters and two [2] brother |
