On Nov. 22, 1917, Verna Lee (Taylor) Jaeger was born to Kihe and Lila (Williams) Taylor on a farm south of Drummond. On Nov. 22, 2016, while celebrating her ninety-ninth birthday, she passed from her earthly home to her heavenly forever home.

Raised in a devout Christian family, with a love for gospel songs, she and her sisters could always be heard singing of their love for Jesus. While attending a revival meeting in the Greenwood schoolhouse she met a special guy, Ralph Bodean Jaeger. This meeting led to their marriage on January 20, 1939.

Verna Lee was always working in the church, helping Bodean with repair work, teaching Bible and Sunday School, and serving in leadership women's ministry roles. A priority in her life was praying for her children, grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews.

Verna Lee is survived by her son, Kendall and his wife, Victoria, of Houston, Texas; her daughter, Marquita Lawson and her husband, Steve, of Yukon; three grandchildren, Kevin Jaeger, Brandi Jaeger, and Caitlin Lawson; and one great-grandchild, Kyle Jaeger; sisters, Glenda Moore, Vada Gilbert and her husband, Leon, all of Enid.

She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Willis Taylor; sisters, Guida Bingham and Naidine Swart. Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, with family receiving friends 2-4 p.m. at Yanda and Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon.

The graveside service is 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6405 Memorial Drive, Enid. Online condolences may be made at www.YandaFuneral.com.

Arrangements are under the direction of Yanda and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Yukon.
