Wayne Kenneth JACK
Enid News and Eagle
Jan. 24, 2011
Submitted by: Family

Can you imagine the beautiful smile on Wayne’s face when his heavenly father took his hand to take him home where there is no diabetes, no more Parkinson’s, no more heart attacks? There was only peace and love with his family by his side and the circle of loved ones waiting to greet him including his mother and father, Stella and Jesse Jack. Wayne was born in Oklahoma City on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1930. Moving to a farm south of Enid he attended the last of country schools, Valley View, where he could ride his horse and could sit in the trees to have lunch. After grade school, he went to Waukomis High School, graduating in 1949. He played basketball, lettering and receiving a jacket. Wayne loved to hunt and received the nickname “Duke” from his bus driver, where he loved to tell his hunting experiences with his dog Duke.
On Aug. 10, 1950, he married the love of his life, Peggy McDaniel, and on Aug. 10, 2010, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He is survived by wife, Peggy of the home; two sons and three grandchildren, Michael, Diane and Darcy Jack of Austin, Texas, and Matthew, Kim, Alexis and Carson Jack of Bentonville, Ark.; and brother, Robert Jack of Enid. He also is survived by two special nieces, Kathy Rooks and Diane Arterbury, and many more nieces, nephews and cousins. Wayne was blessed to have great loved ones that took care of him at The Commons nursing home for the past two and one-half years, where they became part of his family. Wayne loved working for Frontier Airlines and retired after 24 years.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Christopher Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church Building Fund or The Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, in Rogers, Ark., with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
