Funeral service for Betty Ruth Ivey, 83, of Enid, at the Greenbrier Nursing Home, will be at 10 am Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Bible Baptist Church. The Dr T.A. and Pastor Terry Chick will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born July 7, 1927, at her grandparents farm near Marshall, Okla., to James and Bessie LaForge and died Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at St Mary's Regional Medical Center.

Betty attended school in Enid and graduated from Enid High School in 1946.

On Augugust 17, 1947, she married Cecil J Ivey.

She worked for many years at St Mary's Hospital before her retirement.

She was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church.

Betty was very gifted as a seamstress and artist. She blessed many people over the years with gifts she made.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Charles; great grandson, Tucker; and sisters, Frances Hopkins and Clarita Ward.

Surviving are her son and daughter and their spouses, Ron and Susan Ivey of Edmond, Okla., and Cecilia and Robert Runnels Sr of Enid, Okla.; and daughter-in-law, Mary Ivey of Shawnee, Kansas. Also surviving are two brothers, Granville LaForge of Missouri and Ivan LaForge of Colorado; 10 grandkids; 11 great grandkids; several nieces and nephews; and godgranddaughter, Sonya Phillips.

Memorials may be made through Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home to Bible Baptist Church or American Diabetes Foundation.
