© Anderson~Burris Funeral Home Enid, Oklahoma April 12, 2008 January 11, 1920 ~ April 5, 2008 he memorial service for Lavona Currier-Irons, age 88, will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 12, 2008, at the First Baptist Church, with Pastor Keith Miller officiating. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Burial will take place before the service, with family and friends gathering at the funeral home at 10:00 AM and proceeding to Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the funeral home. She was born to Benjamin Franklin and Martha [Close] Harvey on January 11, 1920 in Tryon, Nebraska, and died Saturday, April 5, 2008, at The Methodist Home in Enid. Lavona grew up in Dubeque, Colorado. She married Red Currier in Utah, and they made their home in Buffalo, Oklahoma. They moved to Enid in 1971, and she worked as a nurse's aide at Bass and St Mary's Hospitals. Lavona later married Marion Irons. She was a member of Enid First Baptist Church, Moose Lodge, and she participated in the Wednesday Night Senior Dances at the American Legion Hall. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Rothgeb of Buffalo, two sons, Harvey Currier and wife Ralinda of Woodward, and Ernst Currier and wife Debbie of Enid; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Red Currier and Marion Irons. |
