© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma December 1992 March 8, 1908 ~ December 25, 1992 Waynoka - Graveside service for Velma Grace Icke, 84, will be 2 PM Monday at Memorial Hill Cemetery with the Rev Carl Hawkins of the Church of God officiating. Interment is by Marshall Funeral Home. Icke died Friday, December 25, 1992 in Waynoka Nursing Home. She was born March 9, 1908, near Waynoka in Woods County to Albertus and Adeline Wyatt Bixler. She married John Estel Icke in Alva on October 4, 1924. They lived in Waynoka. He died in 1977. Survivors include two sons, Don Icke of Fairview and Dale Icke of Saint Clair, Missouri, several grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, three sisters, one granddaughter, and one great granddaughter. |

© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma June 26, 2021 September 17, 1929 ~ June 24, 2021 Funeral service for Herman Oscar Icke will be Monday, June 28, 2021, at 11:00 am at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jim Nance officiating. Private family burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. Herman was born on September 17, 1929, in Alva, OK, to Albert and Dora Mae Wilks Icke and entered the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 24, 2021, in Enid. Herman grew up in Alva and worked at the Alva Flour mill. On August 2, 1950, he married Leona Shaw. He served in the US Army, was deployed to Korea for 14 months and honorably discharged as a master sergeant. He was a Teamster truck driver for 23 years, hauling loads from Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Moab, Utah. In 1988, they made their home in Enid. Herman was a Saint Mobile driver, Meals on Wheels driver, and led a devotional each month at two nursing homes for over 20 years. He enjoyed his nursing home and hospital ministry. Herman was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Leona; three children, Debbi Harrison, Ken Icke, and Karen Martz and husband, Chuck; three grandchildren, Chad Martz, Kimberly Fowler and Cole Harrison; six great-grandchildren, Kaley, Layla, Kanden, Riley, Norah, and Sawyer; and many nieces and nephews. © Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma October 23, 2021 May 7, 1933 ~ October 16, 2021 Private family graveside service for Leona Icke was held in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. Leona was born on May 7, 1933, in Buffalo, Oklahoma, to Loren and Ethel [Brown] Shaw and died on October 16, 2021, in Enid. She grew up in Buffalo and graduated from Buffalo High School. On August 2, 1950, she married Herman Oscar Icke. After Herman's discharge from the service, they made their home in Alva and later Enid. In 1972, they moved to Colorado and returned to Enid in 1988. Leona worked for several years at Bass Hospital as a nurse's aide and chart clerk. She worked the night shift so she could be home when the children got home from school. She was an excellent cook and loved trying new recipes, making the best pie crusts. Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Herman, on June 24, 2021; parents; and two brothers, Virgil and George. She is survived by her children, Debbi Harrison, Ken Icke, and Karen Martz and husband, Chuck; three grandchildren, Chad Martz, Kimberly Fowler and Cole Harrison; six great-grandchildren, Kaley, Layla, Kanden, Riley, Norah, and Sawyer; sister, Betty Jo Icke; many nieces and nephews.
