© Enid Morning News Enid, Oklahoma September 1999 January 18, 1914 ~ September 1, 1999 Funeral services for Amy V. Hoskins, age 85, of Lawton, Oklahoma, formerly of Enid, will be 10 AM Tuesday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev Marvin Goodpasture officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. She was born January 18, 1914 in Longdale, Oklahoma, to James B. and Margaret McCaskey Harmon and died at the Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was raised in the Longdale community where she attended a country school called Lonestar. She married Alvin Hoskins on July 23, 1929 in Fairview and he passed away February 2, 1989. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She worked at Bass Hospital as a nurse's aid for several years. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Champ of Biloxi, Mississippi and Joyce Sutton of Birmingham, Alabama, seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and four great great randchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, and one brother. |
© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma Decwmber 21, 2017 April 7, 1938 ~ December 18, 2017 The funeral service for Jimmie Max Hoskins, 79 year-old Enid resident, is 2:00 pm Friday, December 22, 2017, in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Steve Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Jimmie was born April 7, 1938, in Enid to Estil and Louise [Schram] Hoskins, and died Monday, December 18, 2017, in St Mary's Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. After his schooling, Jimmie worked in the grocery business for a time, and also worked in carpentry with his uncle before beginning a 43-year career at Vance Air Force Base. He worked in all facets of the motor pool and maintenance until his retirement. On November 15, 1943, he married Norma Ging and the couple made their home in Enid. He was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church where he faithfully kept the grounds for several years. He enjoyed attending the races and Enid Motor Speedway, Longdale, and was able to attend the Daytona 500. He is survived by his son Jimmie, his daughter Jennifer, his granddaughters, Tapanga and Cheyenne Marin. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Norma in 2013; one sister Betty Newberry; one brother in childhood; and several nieces, nephew, and cousins. Hoskins, 71-year-old Enid resident, will be 10:30 am Monday, June 24, 2013, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev Steve Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Norma was born December 6, 1941, in Helena, Okla., the daughter of John and Ruby [Love] Ging and died Monday, June 17, 2013, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. On November 15, 1961, she married Jim Hoskins. She was employed at NORCE for over 28 years. She liked to help her husband, Jim, with his lawn service when she would get off of work. Norma liked to listen to music, especially polka, while doing crossword puzzles. She enjoyed westerns on television. She loved to spend time outside with her family. It would brighten her day when she spent time with her grandkids. She enjoyed going to Western Sizzlen on Sundays. There is a swing outside and she wished she could have taken it home with her. Her husband and daughter would joke with her that they should back the truck up and load it up. She loved flowers and would talk your ear off about them. She is survived by husband, Jim of the home; son Jimmie, also of the home; daughter, Jenninfer Hoskins of Enid; two granddaughters, Tapanga and Cheyenne Martin of Enid; sister, Frances Davis of Ponca City; brother, Mat Ging; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
